Beauty Product Reviews

Probably best bang for your buck

Worked well as a vitamin C but it was grainy and made even my not normally sensitive skin very irritated.

I did see better results then when I was using the drunk elephant serum though so I do feel it works it is just a little strong for me.

Better for Less

I wanted to love these as they seem more sustainable and the colors were ones not currently covered in my cream blush wheelhouse but the performance has been dismal at best.

The LE plum colored blush applies extremely patchy and will remove whatever is underneath it (in my case the YSL NU Skin Tint.)

IF I do apply the blushes alone they go on fairly well and are buildable but by the 2nd hour it is like they have disappeared from my face, even if I have set it with powder and/or spray. I've also tried application with fingers, sponge and brushes all with similar results.

Lastly, I'd have rather paid more for this to be in the luxe metal packaging as this red cardboard already feels like it is falling apart and the corners are just cardboard at this point.

See Sonia's blog for updates

I'll disclaim by saying I do not have this set in hand yet but I own other fude, the sky eye set and an og - the pink Wayne Goss anniversary set. I will update this review with how the brushes perform once I receive them.

These handcrafted items have always been difficult to obtain and will only continue to do so as the world discovers how wonderful Sonia's brushes are to use. There will always be another offering we are sure to love, I have no doubt.

I saw a lot of people complain about checking out and I'm not sure if it helps but, I pre-save all my information in Beautylish to have the fastest possible checkout - but it's still a gamble. I was not able to get last years Holiday release but what I did not do was go to the internet to harass anyone.

We're all people doing our best and if you were not able to grab this release remember there are always new releases and scarcity only makes these collections more special.

Sonia has run one of the most in-depth brush blogs for years and between her and Christine at Temptalia I still believe there is good on the Beauty web, don't add to the negativity. Message Beautylish directly if your quarrel is actually with the site.

Gorgeous Lip Topper, NOT a Lipstick

First and foremost, props to CT for using environmentally friendly glitter! That in itself is a 5 star for me, but let me list the things I'd have liked to know when purchasing.

- This is extremely sheer, the swatch shown is a bit misleading... the lipstick is MUCH more glittery/iridescent - The glitter is slightly gritty, you can kind of feel the texture. This is a non-issue for me but I'd like to have known - You get 1/2 the amount of lipstick for the same price as her other lipstick products. - I forget the formula is on my lips it's so lightweight. But the glitter does eventually settle into my lip lines.

Great POP! Not so Great Price!

I ADORE CT products, and this palette is no exception. The 'Enhance' shade in this palette looks practically wet and is also gorgeous when applied! The 'Smoke' shade does stain my eyelids if I don't use a thicker primer, (my eyelids are prone to staining, so just be warned.) I HAVE to use my fingertips with this formula unless I'm trying to diffuse the shadow or cover my face in glitter. I know Temptalia suggests a dampened brush but with my past CT quads I have experienced hard pan after doing that. The 'Prime' shade has a duo-chrome shift to it with a light purple but it was difficult to photograph.

I have finger swatched and swatched with a dense, flat, synthetic brush. Clearly don't use a brush.

Long review short, if you don't have many metallic shades and you don't mind working with your hands this is worth the splurge. If you're drawn to only one shade, buy a single and find a dupe!

My Favorite Winter Moisturizer!

This is most definitely a splurge item but scent layering this with the body wash makes me forget just for a minute that Winter is here! I really appreciate the spatula that comes with as I used it to scrape the sides of my old regular sized container as well! I don't notice any difference between this and my old one so I'm not sure what the previous reviewer was referring to. This scent doesn't really fade on me, which I like but if you're sensitive to smells be aware you'll smell like a beach! The moisture is great and I always feel soft after!

Not worth the expense...

I purchased these quite awhile ago, and I was thoroughly unimpressed. I thought perhaps it was user error so I tried using them after watching a few YouTube videos... If they are laid flat and then moved at all they catch the bristles of my brushes. The sizes in this pack are also not right in my opinion. There is no need for so many large/medium ones when the smaller ones are the majority of brushes I have (plus they have to be extremely tight to even vent the brushes well.) My best friend ordered some knockoffs from Amazon and honestly they're the EXACT same thing for 1/3 the cost.

Not worth my time or money

I really wanted to love these, and I thought they would be a great travel solution to my brushes being misshapen but alas they do NOT travel well.

The size selection is great, and they did help my brushes keep their shape after being washed and laid flat. My only issue is that even being rolled up in my brush carrier they slide around on my brushes and therefore cause the bristles to splay out and get caught.

Four starts because they live up to their claims, just don't travel well and not the solution I had been looking for.
