Roaccutane/Accutane has been around for many years and is a popular drug to treat acne. I know of several people who have taken it and had incredible results, but I unfortunately am not one of those people. Even though my experience was pretty terrible and at times terrifying, I still think it can 'do good'. I wish that it wasn't so unpredictable! You cannot tell what side effects you're going to get - you are not pre-dispositioned to any specific side effect.

This is a verrrrrrry long video, and I hope that's okay. I'm not a fan of long videos, and I generally try and keep mine under 5 minutes if I can, but I wanted to give you as much of my story as I could possibly tell. I did leave something out, but I don't want to talk about it.

This is only one chapter in my acne life - when I said I hadn't tried everything, I just thought I had, I meant it. Actually, even through all of the side effects from Roaccutane, I later did something for my skin that was even WORSE. Yes, worse than getting cracked dry skin, chronic dandruff and passing out in the shower. I don't mind talking about that story, so if you want to hear it let me know, I might have to do a "My full acne history" kind of video to cover that!

A little bit of info about Roaccutane / Accutane taken from Wikipedia:
Isotretinoin, INN, /ˌaɪsoʊtrɨˈtɪnoʊ.ɨn/, first marketed as Accutane by Hoffmann-La Roche, is a medication used mostly for cystic acne. It is also a chemotherapy treatment used in brain, pancreatic and other cancers. It is used to treat harlequin-type ichthyosis, a usually lethal skin disease, and lamellar ichthyosis. Its effects are systemic and nonselective. It is a retinoid, meaning it is related to vitamin A, and is found in small quantities naturally in the body.
The most common brands are Roaccutane (Hoffman-La Roche, known as Accutane in the United States before July 2009), Amnesteem (Mylan), Claravis (Barr), Isotroin (Cipla) or Sotret (Ranbaxy).

I think that if you are considering going on Roaccutane, it really needs to be a 'last resort' medication. The side effects can be severe and chronic, and permanent. It is not something to be taken lightly. It is not guaranteed to work, and your acne can come back over time even after completing the course of medication. If you're scared, you should be - that means you're taking things seriously and can make a better informed decision!
