ABOUT THE SERIES ↓
The Makeup of the Zodiac Series is my first makeup series where I create extreme, theatrical looks of each sign based on my personal interpretation of the sign's characteristics and symbolism. These looks will not follow the typical interpretations people have done in the past (i.e.; many people do a mermaid look for Pisces, but I don't want to do that). I try to upload a new look once per month.

PISCES is symbolized by water and fish; there's nothing very concrete about the sign. At the same time, it is ruled by Neptune, which is symbolized by the abstract, illusion, and dreams. Because of this, I wanted to create a look that was abstract with no solid lines or designs; I wanted it to be very flowy.

I decided to do something experimental by trying to mimic watercolors on my face, since it's a very "flowy" medium (and one I'm actually really bad at in real life; I'm better with oils and pencils). I looked at a bunch of paintings by one of my favorite artists (Silvia Pelissero) and decided I would take the plunge and experiment with it. Agh! It was very difficult and I'm still not happy with the final product - but I don't have time to go back and redo this.

If I could go back I would change a lot of things but it was an interesting learning experience :) I would rather like to label this as an experiment than a finished look; I might redo Pisces in the future if I have time. But here is Pisces for now.

ARIES will probably be published on May 9...otherwise, I'm letting my face rest, lol! This heavy makeup isn't making my skin happy -_-
