MAKE ALL THE THINGS! Yes this is what I've been doing in my spare time -- etching everything and anything!
I decided to etch all of the houses sigils from Game of Thrones.
Yes I know two are missing -- there were problems with the vinyl process and those two printed out kind of wonky.
I wanted to etch the house names under as well but the shot glass was too tiny :( But I rather am very happy with the finished product and I can't wait to drink out of these bwahaha.
If you want to try this out the process is rather simple --
1. Print out/cut out the negative of the design you want out of vinyl
2. Stick it onto your cup
3. Use a credit card or something with an edge to go over the vinyl to make sure there are no gaps/air bubbles
4. Get some safety goggles + gloves. Pour some etching cream into a container
5. With a paintbrush go over the exposed area with some etching cream. You only need it to be 1/8th of an inch thick.
6. Wait 1-3 minutes depending on how opaque you want the etch. The longer -- the more opaque!
7. Wash your glassware thoroughly :)
