One of the big trends this spring is color blocking but because I would rather dress to my own taste than what's trendy, I work the idea behind the trend and instead mix different patterns both in neutral tones. Because neither the stripes nor the leopard print outweigh each other, mixing these different prints works. One of my other favorite features about this outfit, and specifically this top, is that it mixes the traditionally harsh pairing of a black and beige stripe with a more feminine and softer texture of crochet. I mimicked this same effect in the pairing of more masculine pieces of cargo style clothing that have feminine cuts such as the skinny leg and cinched waist of the jacket.
