During 2012-2013, my channel was at its peak. I loved making videos and creating content, and I uploaded regularly. I loved our little community, where we all supported each other creatively, celebrated nerd culture, and talked about books.

All of that changed when I began receiving messages, photos, and video from a certain user. The nature of his correspondence was sexual and threatening---not to mention totally and completely insane. His threats and requests rarely made any sense. Blocking and ignoring him wasn't enough. He sent post cards from various states to my P.O. box, let me know he knew my home address, eventually started posting letters, and then, finally, packages with contents I'd really rather not discuss.

I knew he was watching each time I'd upload a video. I couldn't shake the paranoia I felt over his obsession. I didn't understand why I was his target. My channel was small. I was insignificant. Not a celebrity. Just a girl who made videos about nerdy things.

Eventually, the paranoia and anxiety overshadowed my enjoyment of making videos, and I abruptly quit my channel without explanation. Every year since, I've attempted to make an explanation video but have failed.

I'm done being the victim and letting someone else's craziness control what I enjoy. I'm not afraid anymore, and I'm ready to move on. '

But I'm different now. I'm not the same. I hope that's ok.

This is the beginning of moving forward.
