I have black hair... Fair skin... And I wear black all the time and have never been called a goth. I guess don't wear heavy black makeup.

Thankyou but were I live every ones just copy's of what every one else's is doing so if you try and be different such as ( die your hair black) or any thing that every one else isn't doing you get labeled. Sucks

Honestly it's the type of black. Jet black looks more "goth" on flat or thin, straight hair especially. If you're hair has natural volume or you're willing to style it everyday, then go jet black. If you want black but a warmer not as intense black, get a warmer black instead of cooler black like jet lack. You still have to give it volume to not make it look flat and "goth".

Try not using a really dark black, sounds silly but get a lighter shaded black. My sister did this and it completely messed up her complexion so she re dyed it a less harsher black and its fine :)

Yeah natural jet black hair doesn't look goth. I'm talking about dying it. I had jet black hair prior to doing any color treatments and when I went back I looked weird lol. It's the dye more than anything. But I get you :)
