If that's the case you should use a corrective first..

A corrective?(first time hearing it) any brands you would recommend? :)
Jan 5, 2014
Naomi S.
A corrective is the concealer you see in yellow or green or pink.
NYX makes an HD one. its with the HD concealers.. bobbi brown line is very popular for them but that's a pretty penny. you may not want to spend that much.
you can use the color wheel (in my profile pic..lol) and you use the opposite shade to cancel out the color. for instance. ppl that have red spots would use a green corrective..
they also put colors in primer for this same reason..

I love the look but I was thinking the same about the under eyes. But if that nyx concealar is giving you the gray shadow toss it. Its making you look older. Try tha banana powder based on your skin tone it would blend nicely

@iline, no problem.. :) follow up question for you, when you say it turns grey, is it your dark under eye showing through or is this an entirely new color.?
Jan 5, 2014
Ileene M.
Its an entirely new color showing.

Naomi S.
That's strange. I misunderstood you. I'm sorry. when you said you have really dark under eyes anyway I was referring to that. corrective is still good if you have dark under eyes anyway. it helps cancel that color so it won't show through.
what foundation do you use?
very rarely will the foundation and concealer color completely change to a grey but definitely not impossible.

Great info Naomi may I add that it could also be that when adding foundation over concealer it does basically wipe away the product just use a color corrector and a eye brightener concealer.

I use the sephora brand but honestly I don't think it's that because I put on the concealer first and thats the color it turns to, before even mixing in the foundation.

Thank you Alma :), I'm looking into a color corrector, now do I do the color corrector first then foundation, then eye brightening concealer?or how?
Jan 5, 2014
Alma M.
So it's the concealer?
Jan 5, 2014
Naomi S.
Nyx actually makes the color corrector in a jar if you want to stay with the same line..
http://www.nyxcosmetics.com/p-26-concealer-jar.aspx
you definitely do the color corrector closest to the skin, so first. then the concealer. alma, please correct me if I'm wrong. thnks.

I think it is, since I first got it it turned like that when I put it on but I didn't use concealer often (tho I should) I didn't try to look for another one but I want to now..I think that this one is to beige for my skin tone, that's y I think it turns to gray

Ileene M.
I just went to the link and the first color on there (beige) is the one I have, definitely the wrong color for me -___-

You need to put a very orange "corrector" first then apply a concealer over that. For problematic dark circles, this method works wonders. Let me know how it goes :)

Julie thank you very much :)

That's the lightest shade?. its strange that it would look grey if its too dark usually it'll just look too dark, like too brown if that makes sense. but yeah, try something lighter but still get a corrector.. I'd suggest the yellow one for dark under eye circles.

Sorry I'm responding late I was making peanut butter fudge lol but any how I think a salmon color would help but the lighting in your picture is a bit yellow.

I'm a bit confused that the concealer would make your under eye look darker like Naomi has mentioned.

@ alma for Iline, most lines have the yellow, pink, lavender, and green correctors. although there are pallets that will give you some in between shades those are the main ones I see. you suggested a salmon. would that be the pink one? or an in between shade?
