I've heard if you wash your face with just plain wet oatmeal it will help cure acne is that true? Also if you take the contents of a green tea bag and mix it with a table spoon of honey and use this mixture as a mask will it help with acne? If I use these together do you think my face would improve?? I don't have acne bumps just red dots... Help?!?

Oatmeal is good for restoring moisture and lightening scars if you mix it with lemon and sugar its not exfoliant and mask (:

I also think green tea as a toner or something will help calm with redness most definitely

I don't really get the "mix it with lemon and sugar it's not exfoliant and mask" part of this can you explain?(: sorry

Thank you though :)

Sorry autocorrect haha. Oatmeal can be used as a mask and a gentle exfoliant if you mix the oatmeal with lemon and sugar, from my experience.

Oatmeal is good but I recommend The Body Shop or Philosophy Clear Days Ahead! I just bought the 30 day kit from Philosophy and it has cleared up some stubborn spots I haven't been able to get rid of the next day after using. I was shocked! But I love it. I believe Queen Helene also has a Oatmeal Mask but I'm not sure, but I do love there Mint Julep Mask; it really helps my skin. 💕

Also the honey trick works but it has to be organic. Honestly the diy homemade stuff never worked for me and almost just made it worst. I'd much rather go for a product like Body Shops Tea Tree or the Philosophy.

I have the mint julep mask but it doesn't really help it just dries out my skin. I live in a very small town with a population of like 100 so we don't have any stores around my town so I can't really get the body shop stuff. I would have to drive 2 1/2 hours to the nearest city to get those products so ill definitely try them next time I go somewhere :) thank you.

And please do not put lemon or toothpaste on your face! Just don't, its really irritating. Been there done that and wish I wouldn't have.

The thing with my face is I don't know if its acne cause its not bumps its just redness in dot form and its only on my cheeks that's why I was wondering about these home remedies

I always have a problem with not receiving my stuff from online because my town is so small that packages can't be delivered to my post office and they always mess up my house adress.

Yeah I have the same issue. Not really acne just redness and not really and bumps. I would check out the reviews on makeupalley or Ulta on the products I mentioned.

Also, Eucerin makes a redness cleanser that could also help you. Its really gentle and I can usually find it at drugstores and Ulta.

Oats... contain beta glutan and avena sativa. Why would this help? Because it creates an immune responce , helping to reduce infkammation, and speed healing. Would I use quaker oates? No. Avenno makes a oat powder that may be mixed with raw, organic yogert, then used as a mask. The yogert will help exfoliate, and is rich in probiotic, healthy bacteria, that kills bad bacteria.

Don't use suger, too harsh,,and stimulates bad bacterias. It will also scratch the surface of your skin, leaving it open for further infection.

Also you need to keep your skin moisturized really well. I recommend the Eucerin or CeraVe's
Moisturizing Lotion helps me. (:

Also, diet is a contributer to inflammation. Less processed foods, refined sugars, and carbs.
Diets rich in probiotics, yogerts, olives, raw foods, nuts, omegas... all help decrease inflammation. The skin is a reflection of how our body is functioning. Topical products may calm symptoms, but finding core issue is key to healing. May be worth a trip to dermatologist.

If it's just red marks from previous acne (or acne scars) you should really try a vitamin c serum - they have been helping my acne scars you can see the improvement after 2 months of use paired with a 2% BHA exfoliator.
