I really like the Laura Mercier Primer! I too have oily skin and recently got a large sample of the Laura Mercier Primer. It worked great for me!

Ooooo @jackee how much was it? Does it keep the shine down? Do you guys have a problem with oily makeup face? As the day goes on my makeup becomes oily and shiney...any suggestions?

I use a primer and then I use Urban Decay's de-slick powder. Works super well and keeps my skin from getting that oily look for longer than without.

Okay! @Leslie. I use the De-Slick setting spray but by noon I start coming out cafe olay! lol So I will go to Sephora and see if they will let me sample both the powder and the primer in the tube and see which works best. Thanks!

I use The Present (clear makeup) by Philosophy. I use it daily, under my makeup or alone. Love this stuff. However; if you have any sensitivity to lavender oil you should not use it.

I would say any primer that has a matte finish. I use smashbox photo finish primer but I definitely heard good reviews about Laura Merciers primer.

I went on a Primer adventure last week at sephora and tried all the ones suggested here. I really like the Laura Merciers Primer. Although, Urban Decay i think would work better with my powder (Clinique). They are all really great primers though!

I am using The Present by Philosophy at the moment and it's great, I have oily skin too. Also try Jouer Essentials Matte Touch, not technically a primer but mattifies the face really well.

I fight the oil at its source by following a good skincare regime so I don't have to apply additional products. My lids get kinda of oily so I recently discovered Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer and then I just use blotting sheets during the course of the day. Laura Mercier's Primer is a great buy if you can afford it. Tried in the past and I was happy with the results.

Why dont u try L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Smoothing Resurfacing Primer. U only need very little and it totally doesn't feel heavy. I use it all the time, I don't hav anybody face, just a combo. One but it get EXTREMELY hot where I live, up to 45C and this primer still feels light and so so so soft. Not too expensive to :)
And, I also love their L'Oréal Paris Studio Secrets Anti-Dull Skin Primer (they hv it in light and medium) I use the medium one on very hot days and it gives just the right about of colour to my face. I don't even use foundation with this one. Such a lovely dewy finish to it. Hope I help

I'd second Huda's advice, I love the Studio Secrets Resurfacing Primer. I have sensitive skin and once I had a bit of a reaction to a product that left my skin feeling almost scaley (ugh gross!) but I used some of this and it made a serious difference in how my skin felt and I was able to apply makeup again =]

I have been using the Studio Secrets and its okay. I also have the Urban Decay Potion. I like them both. I am going to look into FX primer and see whats T on that! Although I like the studio secrets texture, and feels light weight under the foundation.

Depending on how oily your skin is and how long you keep your make-up on, even the best primers don't work completely to hide the oiliness. Always carry blotting sheets (preferably one that doesn't remove make-up) and translucent powder. You might also want to consider using a foundation that is oil-absorbing.
I have oily skin too! I use Urban Decay's De-Slick powder. And lately I've been using Boots' Instant Matte which is a liquid that absorbs oil.
