You could always go with a neck cut like I have. I like to to my flat iron a put nice big fluffy curls in my hair nothing special but cute and always but a headband or something eles remember just me your self.

Half up half down is always good. I also have a really long school day (sometimes twelve hours) so I sometimes just braid my hair different ways depending on what I'm doing. Braids rock for long hair!!

Make sure u have a good haircut. Then u can feel comfortable wearing it down at any time. Just to freshen hair that's too long..... Wear it natural. Work with what u got
