My mom won't let me wear a lot of makeup, she does, but I'm not allowed to wear it all the time.. I have a lot of makeup, I just can't wear it everyday. the only thing I can wear daily is mascara. How old were you guys when you started wearing makeup, and how'd you convince your parents to let you? Thanks for the advice you guys (:

I started with a simple brown mascara at the age of 12, I kind of regret it! My lashes are not at full as they used to be! Whenever you wear makeup around your parents, make yourself look natural, and proper :) I did that with my mom and she started to like the look of it :)

I started wearing makeup in 8th grade, just mascara and a tiny bit of eyeliner. In freshman year I started wearing foundation also. Sophomore year is really when I started wearing full makeup. My mother was pretty lenient on what I wore just as long as I didn't over-do it.

Well I wear heavy black mascara like ALL the time, they don't really care? But I really want to start wearing like face makeup. (I'm not that worried about my eyes) I wear face makeup, but only like BB creams probably like once a week... :\

Bb creams aren't bad to wear because its light and supposed to look natural , opt for eyeliner and clear mascara or clear gel for your lashes because its simple, full proof , and easier to remove.

When I became a teenager (13) I was allowed to wear makeup daily, but had to keep it fairly light. I slowly started wearing more and colorful things , and as long as I cleared a new look with mom before I Wore it in public, she was fine.

Hi Julie G! When I was a teen one thing I found helpful was asking my mom why she didn't want me to use makeup. I found out when my mom was a teen she had terrible acne, and she covered it up with makeup which clogged her pores and made it worse. She then regretted starting with makeup so young. This lead to what she thought I should do with makeup.
So a good way to start with your mom might be to ask her why she doesn't want you to want makeup. WIth my mom, we started out by first learning a good skin care routine, and sunscreen (we are really pale people, so good sunscreen is always important). After that, a great suggestion from Jessica R above might be using a bb cream, and adding some mascara or a lip gloss (check out our Armour glosses, they have great colors and also help moisturize).
But the most important thing to do is keep talking to your mom about make-up, skincare and beauty. This might warm her up to feeling more comfortable with you wearing makeup, while letting you learn about what has worked for her.

When I was in sixth grade at the very end (more towards summer) my mom let me wear a little bit of mascara for special occasions. In seventh grade she let me wear mascara and foundation to cover up my terrible pimples. I've been wearing mascara and foundation ever since and occasionally a little blue mascara :)

I started in 6th grade but very lightly. Like mascara and gloss. By 8th grade I used foundation eyeshadow and mascara. High school is when I really got into it :)

I just wore mascara and brown eyeliner in 7th and 8th, then in high school started the Concealer, powder, tinted moisturizer, lipgloss, black eyeliner and mascara and neutral eyeshadows to school. then for events or going out it was full face, foundation blush bronze etc. I didn't start wearing a full face daily until I graduated.

I probably started at 12 with simple eyeliner since everyone kept saying I looked dead 24/7 -_-
Then at 13 I started wearing a bit of concealer for any breakouts, I now still pretty much do the same for everyday but on the odd occasion I might wear a bit of mascara/light blush/lipstick.
Just build your makeup in, start off simple and very slowly being in others and your mum will understand it as a growing process.
My mum didnt mind as long as I was looking simple and decent and didnt look like some clown thing :D

I began when I was 12-13. start practice some natural make up and get to know your skin, then you're prepared good when your mother gives you her permission.

Well I started to wear makeup last year when I was sixteen at first my mom and the rest of my family threw a fit about it and said that I didnt need it but I finally convinced my mom and she let me wear it I believe if youre in highschool your parents should let you wear it as long as you don't get too dramatic like winged eyeliner is nice but no extremely heavy makeup.. you should also give your mother reasons why you'd like to wear makeup every day.

I never really wear too much make up because being a teen means that you tend to be prone to spots and blackhead etc. so I don't want to block my pores or anything. But I do wear some mascara and like a tinted bb cream. My parents were never fussed with me wearing make up, I think because they knew that I wouldn't wear a lot haha. But you shouldn't wear a lot any way. :) just a tad in my opinion

I started to wear make up in late 7th grade but my mom worked at clinique so she kinda wanted me to start experimenting with it... So.
