I have no product suggestions but seeing as how my bestie committed suicide, I thin k that the best thing to do is think that you're pretty. Just because you have acne doesn't make you any less beautiful. My best friend thought she was ugly because her boyfriend called her a fat slut so she shot herself.

Possibly Mederma for the scarring. I wouldn't worry about, though. You are so beautiful!

I am 20 years old and during high school I rarlly broke out but now I have been breaking out so much on my cheeks and it always ends up with scarring. how do I get rid of the acne scars and prevent breakouts? I'm becoming very self conscious about it and make up just isn't cutting it anymore.:( help please.

@marie I have been using bio oil but I haven't noticed much of a difference but I'm going to try to be consistent with it until I finish it hopefully I tell the difference by then. Thank you.

You need to use it for at least 3 months. I can tell my scars have gotten lighter.

Birth control was my savior. The two photos on the left are just from a couple months ago. Acne destroyed my confidence. And even my dermatologist told me there was nothing she could do. After struggling with tons of medications and expensive cleansers and creams, I just gave up and stopped trying. Instead, I started birthcontrol to take care of my hormones. It only took 3 months, and now my skin is almost spotless C: I know I'm ranting... But I could not recommend it more. If face washes and creams arnt working, it's probably your hormones. And Birthcontrols like Yaz and Gianvi are approved for acne treatment. And they rlly work.

Birth control really does work, but don't use Yaz it's killed women before, my doctor took me off of it a couple months ago.

Something affordable that you could try: Shea butter works great. also make sure you exfoliate. St. Ives usually has something for everyone :) I hope this works for you

Whitney, it's important to be sensitive to others' feelings. At least put a trigger warning next time?

Birth control doesn't work for everyone ladies, it made me gain weight breakout and made my period super heavy and to be totally honest it made me seriously depressed... my period lasted freaking 13 damn days... I only have my period for 4 days max... so I don't know but yeah ik not period related lol...just hw careful with this pill stuff...maybe it will work with you though I'm always that person with the worse luck and get bad side effects from everything lol.

I never had to deal with acne, I never had any. I mean occasionally I had a pimple or two. But I know that when you do you should try not to irritate it so much with makeup and products. Let the skin heal itself. Remove your makeup every night, it helps cause when your sleeping your body is repairing itself, but if you have a full face of makeup your just absorbing all that dirt and oil from the day. Use sunscreen even at night, acne leaves scars but if you don't protect your skin from the sun it will be worse. To remove the redness from acne use a green concealer and just apply it around the pimple not on top, because you can irritate it and it may become worse. And of course don't pick at your acne. It makes it way worse. Acne is pretty much bacteria on your face and if your popping it that bacteria is just spreading to different parts of your face. If you feel the urge to pop a pimple get a popping pimple game it's fun and stops you from popping the really thing. Hope this helped.

I used to have a lot of acne as well so I totally feel you but honestly don't let it get the best of you. It's REALLY common. Taking birth control really helped me! So you should really consider that. I don't break out like I used to and in time the scarring will go away on its own. I still have scars but they're not as noticeable as they were before.

I know how you feel! But you're super pretty! & I'm not being fake or anything I honestly mean it! You can use a plain yogurt mask every night for 15 min! Your skin will feel relaxed & calmed & you'll start seeing a difference in your skin within the first week of use!:) also drink lots & lots of green tea! Those antioxidants on the green tea really help heal your skin :) good luck! You're not alone 😊
