I would totally wear them! You could pair then with a solid crop top or even a shirt tucked in. The first would look super cute with some combat boots and maybe even a leather jacket!

I don't think asking people for their opinions if they would wear it to school is a good idea. Because everyone has their own style opinions. But honestly if you are thinking they're tacky yourself than I think you should wear something you feel comfortable and confident in.(:

It's not too bad, but I think yes its kinda off to wear to school. If you're in like grade school it's totally okay to wear it, but since I'm guessing you're in high school.. well that changes things.. But if you want to wear it, go for it, not like we can do anything about that. Just go rock anything youre comfortable with. :)
