Found out via WWD Beauty (a trade newspaper) that MAC has chosen Rihanna as their next Viva Glam spokesperson. Personally, I'm Riri'd out. What are your thoughts/opinions beauties?

Thanks for the update.
When a collection comes out its special and exciting but when they keep using the same person it loses the spark. After reading this I'm really like ugh more rhianna products...no thanks ill pass

I think we're over her because the lines were disappointing. but ppl are still buying it cause it riri. MAC is still hitting their bottomline which is to sale!. her line still sells out n a day pretty much. they are going to keep using her. blah.

My husband said he would've like to see his fave singer with the honor...Adele. Or Alicia Keys as she is big at fundraising for AIDS research and education. To have Riri again on such an important release it definitely takes away the spark as Patricia mentioned.

I understand that her products sell out but why her yet again. Possibly shes dropping an album around the same time and her ppl want to make sure she gets as much publicity as possible.
Its exciting when a fav celebrity is attached to a product we generally buy but at the end of the day the product is more important.

I think they pic her because she is known for wearing ruby woo they need someone who the public knows wears mac makeup like ga ga or nikki I like Adele and Alicia but they are going to go with what's hot right now an rihanna is always in the news or twitter for being bad lol and that sells.

Honestly, the purpose of Viva Glam is to give support to people living with HIV/AIDS.. the spokesperson just helps push that cause even more.
MAC is making a smart decision, her line sold out in hours, think of what that can do for a cahritable brand? The AIDS fund matches them Dollar for Dollar!
BUT, if its another dark color it's a turn off- Nicki and Gaga were successful because they were both light pinks which were opposite of the permenant VG line.

Very true @Carolyn. Can't skirt around that. @Jenna...if it was Beyonce I know die hard fans that would buy several tubes. Talk about MAC's website crashing due to the traffic.

Eh, I personally don't think Rhianna should be the spokesperson. I like the Alicia Keys idea better. Or I wouldn't mind seeing another male artist, not sure who that would be? In my dreams, Prince but I believe he is a Jehovah's Witness now so maybe that's a no go for him.

I live about 45 min from where he grew up I wanted ( & still do ) to marry him up until about 5yrs ago he still lived here in Minnesota but sold his place & moved to la... a little off topic sorry... those would be perfect names btw.

Possibly its too late but we should do a petition to have someone else. There are plenty of other artist to chose from. If there doing repeats than why not gaga. the Prince idea is a great one too. The focus being purple with pinks any color really. The marketing ideas and promos would be insane.

but again. riri is always sold out same day so that's what mac is looking at. if its a good color I'll buy it riri or not.. but prince is such an awesome idea.. I'm saddened by it being riri again. haha.
