Red hair dye will most likely fade into an orange or pink , no where near green.

Will this take the dark spots out. They said it should since its made for dark hair.

Yes. I wash with shampoo for damaged hair. Even tho its not damaged. I use it cuz I dye my hair a lot.

I don't I think it goes green dying it red I know if you dyed it mousy brown it can go a bit greeny but I got told if I wanted to go brown had to dye it red first or use a brown with a red base

I'm always skeptical of box color. but I'm a hair dresser so I was trained that way. for vibrancy I suggest pravana. the foam concept just doesn't make sense to me. I don't get how it would work. I'm not saying it won't, but, its strange to me. better safe than sorry go to a salon.

I do my hair at home. I've had salons cut and dye it and it went wrong. Plus I've had Sally's talk me into buying stuff and it killed my hair.

Red cancels out green my friend went on holiday she had bleach blond hair and went swimming in chlorine and it went green so to cancel the red covered it in tomato ketchup and most of it went :)

Sallys is knock off. its not professional grade product, that's why its open to the public.

They sold me bleach a year ago. With 40vol and my hair was falling out. I haven't bought anything from there since. Garner told me it would turn green. I Thought what? There's no way that would happen with red. I'm just afraid it won't dye over the blonde since some places are dark.

Go to a salon. Garnier and other companies that sell box color aren't educated. My school called them and asked them questions and they didn't know what to say. Sallys is NOT salon quality. Cosmoprof is. Unless you're a licensed professional you can't shop there. I'd suggest going to a salon. An actual professional unless you're willing to compromise for bad results

40 volume isnt always needed, actually, more often than not unless you have coarse or ethnic hair (Asian Hispanic African American etc) you can get the same results with 20 volume as you do with 40 just in a more controlled bracket. different levels of developer are used for different types / conditions of hair when you buy box color its like a shot in the dark they don't know what kind of hair you have so they just put the same developer in all boxes and that's why what works for some doesbt work for all.

Preach Becca. think of it this way. even in a salon, things can go wrong. but they have the necessary products to fix it. bleach is unpredictable at times. even if you do everything right you can still get an unwanted result. you need to be educated correctly on how to neutralize or enhance dominant pigments. because that's what lightener exposes. its more complex than people think. that's why we pay thousands of dollars to get the right education to do things correctly and know what to expect and how to fix things when they don't go as planed.

My bf took a blonde a tried lighting it. It worked. But I him I'm not sure about rebleaching it again. Plus I don't any more bleach. I want to school to for Cosmo. I wanna be able to do my hair myself without asking a million questions. L'oreal pretty much bitched me out for using there 7level lighting kit on black.

It's orange red and brown. From the black.

Orange is a level 7.
Brown is a level 5.
Red is a level 3.
Neutralize accordingly.
