Astringents, toners and refreshers all do the same for different skin types. Toners in general balance the skins pH. The acid mantle protective barrier which for skin is between 4.5 to 5.5. Toning is very important because it restores your protective barrier after cleansing and should be followed by a daytime and night time moisturizer specified, for your skin type and any skin conditions you may have.

Clinique has a new one out without alcohol. Make sure to never buy stuff with alcohol on it. Just makes your akin worse and more oily :(

You can get witch hazel at walgreens. WH is also good for soothing the skin after waxing. Just a little note id throw out there.
