I had my tongue pierced and I always felt like it was in my way, so I took it out. People told me not to get it cause it can crack your teeth. But if you really want it I would say yes cause it's an experience and you can always take it out if you don't like it.

I wouldn't personally advise you to get what, one of my elder sisters had it done. Firstly, she didn't get it done in a proper place but nothing happened thank god, but she kept it in for about 2 months and then took it out. It definitely bothered her and also if you're 18or so and looking for a job it's not great. My sister got turned down twice as a result.

I use to have one but I took mine out. if you get one make sure you use metal ones and not acrylic. acrylic collect bacteria. it takes awhile to get use to a tongue piercing. I had mine in for a year and a half. if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

I had one and it ripped out! Be careful if you do. I got my tongue re pierced three more times before finally giving up. If you do get it, be cautious while you eat certain things, because that's how mine ripped. Also be aware for certain jobs/school! I'm a nurse and had to take it out for obvious reasons, but a lot of jobs look down on facial piercings and tongue piercings!

If you do apply for job, just buy a clear ball one.

@Liz Ouch! Did your tongue rip?

Yeah, why not? I love mine. You can always get a clear retainer if you're trying to hide it, and it's better if you get acrylic barbells instead of metal ones because you might accidentally bite on it.

I had mine pierced years ago, it looked good but couldn't enjoy a meal as I always chipped my teeth or the ball would come off! Lol

Yes. I have one and I love it! I have not had any problems at all.

@Sherry yes! It hurt sooo bad! I was eating and the top ball got caught on the outside of one of my molars while I was eating and it ripped almost all the way down my tongue. I waited for it to heal but it would always rip a little but as soon as it healed again.

If you want it, go for it! Didn't hurt to get it, and it's easy to take out if you decide against it.

I've had mine pierced since I was 17, I'm 22 now, I don't even feel it anymore, I always forget I have it pierced, it takes a lil bit to get used to & you can't eat anything but mashed potatoes and soft foods for 3 weeks and I suggest you clean it 3 times EVERYDAY and it keep it really clean because if you don't you will get an infection but I've never had any problems with mine. If you don't know what your doing and how to take care of it there will be problems. Go to a good piercing place and they will be really clear with instructions after the piercing is done. Good luck!

It's a personal choice that's really up to you opposed to asking online for opinions. You have to go to sleep with your decision, not us.

I say personally if you don't have a job, wait. Or get a clear one if you REALLY want one. If you do have a job check the dress code as some places may be against it or not allow you to have one that's visible. I personally wouldn't so it, but its not my thing. I'd want more of a belly button piercing if I had to get one anywhere aside from my ears. If you so decide to get it done get it done professionally. A messed up tongue piercing can kill ya if done wrong.
