As a former pageant girl, I say DEFINITELY go for drama! Your dress is wonderfully dramatic but you can't let it "wear you". You'll definitely need bold makeup. Dark, sultry eye makeup with lots of liquid liner and false lashes. Oh, and don't get your hair too "poofy". Your dress is full and poofy, so if your hair is too, your face won't stand out like it should, and again, the dress will end up "wearing you" instead of vice versa.
Oh yeah, and either go with a nice mauve-y pink OR dark colored lip. In my opinion a bright lip would be garish with such a dramatic dress and dark, smokey eyes.
Your professional makeup artist should be able to steer you in the right direction, though. (; Hope you have a great prom night!!
