What's the best stuff to use to shave or remove hair around your bikini area to prevent razor bumps? Shaving gel, cream, or wax? I have sensitive skin & curly, coarse hair. Suggestions or tips please!

Use a venus razor. And after you shave apply aloe vera gel or a little vaseline to prevent irritation and redness/bumps.

Waxing is more painful but much much better afterwards and better for your skin and remains smooth for weeks so no need for constant shaving x

I recommend waxing. I've been waxing my bikini line for many years now and always had great results. Hair doesn't grow out for at least 4 weeks, and when it does, it's softer and thinner. Plus no razor bumps at all! I recommend going to a professional the first few times because it is painful at first. I started out going to a professional the first three or four times, but then started doing it myself. I get the same results and I save a lot of money!

Waxing works, but I prefer using a venus razor. If you use plenty of shaving cream you should be alright. Also, do it while soaking your lower half in warm water (like in a bath). It'll soften the hairs and make it easier.

I wax and I stopped getting the issues I was having with shaving. My skin looks/feels super smooth for weeks and I no longer experience darkening.

Use a razor for MEN! really is a big different for me :D if you think about it it is logic: men use it on their face, what is also sensitive skin just like the skin between your legs;p.

I get a Brazilian wax every 4 or 5 weeks and I'm so glad I started doing so. I hate shaving!! But if you're going to shave, don't waste your money on expensive gels and creams. Simply buy Suaves conditioner. They have a line that is usually sold for a dollar at Wal-Mart or dollar stores. Or any conditioner will do. New razors work best. Don't go too cheap...but you also don't have to go super expensive. Rinse the razor with hot water as well as the area you want to shave. It'll open the pores making it easier to shave.

Waxing hurts but it's definitely worth it. After a couple of times the pain isn't as bad. I always take some ibuprofen before my appointment so as to reduce inflammation and pain. Baby oil gets ride of the stickiness. Exfoliating beforehand is recommended. Wear loose underwear and pants the first day or two after you get your wax and I wouldn't recommend working out or going for a bike ride afterwards either haha.

I don't remember the names of the products but my lady has given me samples of stuff to reduce the hair growth even more after my wax as well as stuff to help with razor bumps and irritation. Everyone is different but if you go to someone who knows what they're doing then she'll be able to help you!

I also agree with Charlie! If you're going to shave instead or wax, men's shavers are so much better. I always seem to get a closer shave!

I use soap and a good razor. Shave at end of shower so water softens skin. Shave downwards even if its still stubbly or be prepared for ingrowns haha. At least that's my experience.

I think the Gillette Fusion razor is a must. Womens razors are so crappy and irritate the skin. Use a shave gel, I use Aveeno. First shave downwards and them upwards against the grain. Afterwards apply Bikini Zone cream to the area, it works amazing!! You can also apply shea butter or coconut oil as well.

Waxing. but don't let water on the area for about 4 hours. exfoliate properly 24 hrs earlier. and use coco butter after. if I shave then expect some bumps the first couple of times.

Wax and/or use something with alcohol in it. they make these pads for men who shave their heads. they work wonders. wipe your razor with an alcohol pad before you shave too.
