I've been doing makeup for about a few months now. I've just now realized how chalky my skin looks once I'm done lol how do I avoid the chalky dry look?! I do use setting spray, I prime my face, moisturize it. I do absolutely everything.

What foundation do you use? And do you apply of with a damp beauty blender?

It could be a variety of reasons you're having this problem. You could be getting winter surface dehydration, using the incorrect skincare and make-up products for your skintype. Skincare needs usually changes when the seasons changes. But, I have also had this problem when I layer too many powder products on. I have dry skin and I don't set my make-up. My dry skin sets my make-up for me. But when I add contour, blush and bronzer, I can get chalky. I also notice long wearing foundations make me drier even the so called moisturizing ones due to the alcohol in them that helps the extend the foundation's wear time. I don't know what is causing this problem for you. It could be one of these reasons I've listed or a combination of the above mentioned possible culprits. Pay attention to your skin and skincare and ease up on powder products. Good luck!

To me it sounds like you need to use different products. You need to remember to use the right products that suit your skin tone. If you have dry skin I'd suggest to avoid using too much powder and if you have oily skin then always remember to set your foundation/concealer with a loose powder for at least 2 minutes then swipe off. Also the moisturiser may be too hard on your skin which could make it dryer surprisingly as this has happened to me once. I hope I helped you somewhat!
