So on the days I wear makeup I remove all my makeup (face and eye) with a makeup removing cloth (and a cotton pad with eyemakeup remover) until there's very little coming off on the cloth. Then I would usually go and cleanse my face with my actual cleanser.

Is this enough to make sure there's no additional makeup left on my skin? The cleanser I'm using is CeraVe Hydrating Cleanser and apparently people are saying it's too gentle to remove makeup but I feel like they may not be taking it off first with a cloth. I don't wear a lot of makeup and stick to thin layers of everything (if spots show through I just leave them). I'm just a bit worried since I don't want to clog up my face by accidentally not cleansing my skin effectively.

Removing your makeup before cleansing should be sufficient. If you're sure you're doing a good job with the first part but don't feel the cleanser is working, switch that out.

Yeah this is what I do to take my makeup off and it works for me but before I do cleanser I have started to wash my face with a face wash because it feels so much cleaner to go to bed like that. Hope this helps:) ♡

Also I your worried about clogging up your skin I do a weekly facemask (you could do one more often) to unclog my pores but specifically using one targeted for pores. ♡

I love using a cleansing balm before cleansing (I double cleanse) nothing wrong with makeup remover wipes- I just find cleansing balm faster and less abrasive for my sensitive skin. I like the Pixi Cleansing Balm. Clinique has a good one as well.
