M.A.C pro-long wear is an all time favorite of mine! I love bb cream now so don't try that many foundations anymore. I did recently get the maybelline dream matte mousse foundation and love it!!

You can ask people there favorite foundation brands, but that doesn't mean there favorite will work for you. I would need to know more about your skin type and the price range you wish to stay in.
First and foremost you need a primer. This will smooth out your skin, minimize pores and fine lines, and hold your foundation on longer. It makes it even and you end up using less foundation. Think of primers like velcro. They hold makeup to your face.
Do you need just a little color? Try a tinted moisturizer (Laura Mercier) or BB Cream (Smashbox or Too Faced). These you do not need a primer. They will even out your skin tone with out being heavy.
One of the best foundations on the market is Makeup Forever HD. They have a very wide range of colors. It's light weight and has a buildable medium coverage. It does not clog pores and it looks flawless. Even oily skin types can use it, just set it with a translucent oil absorbant setting powder.
Do you have very oily skin? Try Makeup Forever Matte Velvet or Kat Von D's Lock It foundation. These are full cover foundations. You will need to go back and add dimension to your face with blush and bronzer.
Combo skin? Makeup Forever HD, Urban Decay Naked, Lancome....
Want something but not high priced? Try Clinique. Very reasonable in pricing. They have matte foundations and lighter weight foundations.
MAC also has some nice foundations as well. Stay away from Bare Minerals, it's just like putting dirt on your face.
Don't forget to be using a moisturizer and sunscreen!

Laura Mercier silk creme foundation, without a doubt the most amazing foundation I have ever used nothing comes close to it. But foundations work differently on different skin types and you'll just have to find the one that works for you

I ha e combo skin and I use Urban Decay's Naked Skin. Fairly inexpensive and has a solid medium coverage but you can build it up. Covers but looks like your skin. You can get it at Sephora or Macy's or any place they sell Urban Decay. Good luck!

I use my hands for it, it doesn't try too fast I find it very easy to blend, you only need a tiny bit

I have a combination skin type. I bought Mac Pro Longwear foundation and I did not like it.. it is very dry and the coverage is light-medium. My favourite one of all time is Estee Lauder Double Wear, it has medium-full coverage, it stays on all day and your skin looks so beautifull after you put it on! I highly recommend it :)

When I'm in a bit of a rush I like the Tarte smooth operator tinted moisturizer, otherwise Laura Mercier crime foundation is great
