You can buy a special clear nail polish that has chemicals in it that are supposed to stop you biting your nails ... You could paint them really nicely or get them professionally done so that when u go to bite, you c how beautiful they are and don't bite and stuff them up :)

Sally Hensen makes a 'no bite' polish, which tastes vile when you bite it ! Depend how strong your habit is though, I tend to bite through it, although it's worth a try!

If you are not scared about all the germs from your nails(just google some articles about how dirty are the hands and the nails and the riscks) then use fake nails. It doesnt matter how short your natural nails are.You can put fake nails. ;)

Icky flavoured nail polish, constant thin coat of nail polish remover (it tastes nasty), gloves, pretty manicure that you wouldn't want to mess up, chew gum instead.. I had the same problem. I ended up finding something to distract me from my nails.

Honestly what I did was get my nails done and I haven't put them in my mouth ever since. Gel kind are the best. You do not need the fake ones if that's too expensive for you. They have gel manicure available. You won't want to stick your nails in your mouth!

Fake nails weaken your natural nail, so when they come off you will want to bite them more. It's a nervous habit so if you play with a stress ball or silly putty it distracts your hands. Also keep a bail file with you so when you find an imperfection you can file it away instead of chewing at it.

I had been biting my nails obsessively for about 17 years and tried everything...bitter nail polish, clear nail polish, acrylic nails, and just plain old self discipline (sitting on my hands or snapping a rubberband that was around my wrist whenever I thought about it) to break the habit. What finally did it was painting them. I filed my short, uneven nails so that they had a little shape and painted them with a great colored nail polish...I think I went with a classic red. I always kept them painted so that when I had the urge I had to reason with whether I wanted red nail polish in my teeth or not. Of course I cracked, especially at first, but I only let myself bite off the nail polish. That way it sort of temporarily satisfied the urge and bought me enough time to get to a nail file. I had a nail file everywhere...in my purse, at my office, in the kitchen junk drawer, etc. and anytime I found myself biting off my nail polish or even starting to bite my nails I'd file them ALL the way down (so they were too short to bite) and re-paint. Slowly but surely I was able to resist the habit a little longer and eventually it became more about keeping my nails looking nice than breaking a habit, especially once people started to compliment my nail polish colors and nails. To the shock and amazement of my whole family and close friends, I have been pretty much nail-biting free for over 3 years. I still bite every so often, but it's few and far between...and usually just when I'm really nervous. I still carry a nail file everywhere to tackle broken nails or keep my habit in check and always have my nails painted. Good luck!

I use to be really bad about biting my nails. So, I decided to start to start painting them red and it really helped it was like a big stop sign. Also, if you start paying for manicures you won't wanna bite then because you won't enjoy wasting your money by biting your nails. Trust me, it works.
