I'm pretty sure you already know about coconut oil, so I'll recommend something else for a change haha. I recommend it's a 10 repairing mask and macadamia nut mask, I believe you can get both at any drugstore or beauty supply. I haven't tried it's a 10 personally, because I'm a cheapo, but I've heard nothing but great things, as for the macadamia nut one, it smells AMAZING and leaves my hair super shiny and soft.

Try a hair mask! I've heard coconut oil makes a great hair mask but I personally haven't tried it myself yet. I like the Organix Macadamia Oil Intensive Moisture Mask (:

Have you tried leaving in your conditioner longer than normal? Like 5 or more minutes before you wash it out?
A leave in conditioner might also help.

I'm currently using the Morrocan oil brand shampoo and conditioner! I have always been prone to dry skin, hair etc.but this is insane 😩😩😩 I shampoo about once a week (out of habit, I used to be a redhead lol!) and only apply it onto my scalp

Shanae it's happened to me before, All I did was take a break by switching to a different oil and then it was fine :)

That's good to hear. Thank you haha. You put conditioner on your scalp and not your ends? Or were you talking about your shampoo?
Mar 8, 2015

Nooo I meant shampoo! I put shampoo on my scalp only and keep it on for as short time as possible, and then condition up to about my ears!

Well the way you shampoo is a correct method at least. I use Joico's reconstruction shampoo & conditioner and it works wonders for me. My hair used to be dry as well and once I started using that it's been unbelievably soft, and I have curls too. Don't know if you'd be willing to switch it up but you should definitely try it.

Okay good! I have a bad habit of putting conditioner on my scalp, I try not to but I seem to always do it.

Doing a homemade hair mask once a week will dramatically improve the health of your hair. Also try to wash your hair as least as you can. Don't brush your hair when its wet. Always use a heat protectant when using heat on your hair and try to not use heat styling. Also use a deep conditoner on your hair once a week :) I recommend the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deeeep Conditioner. I also recommend the Pantene Overnight Miracle Repairing Serum which is a peoduct you apply to damp or dry hair at night so it can repair and keep your hair healthy.
How To Make a Hair Mask:
First choose a moisturizing ingredient as your base.
- Coconut oil
- Olive oil
- Avocado oil
- Almond oil
- Sunflower oil
- Castor oil
- Shea butter
- Mango butter
- Aloe vera gel
(Some of these ingredients can be very dense, you just have to warm them up in the microwave so they become an oil-like consistency.)
Secondly, pick one of these stimulating ingredients.
- Tea tree oil
- Lavendar oil
- Jasmine oil
- Peppermint oil
- Spearmint oil
- Lemon oil
Add up to 10 drops of one these oils to your hair mask.
Next, pick one of these ingredients to add a gloss to your hair.
- Honey
- Lemon juice
- Lime juice
- Apple Cider Vinegar
You can also add one of these ingredients for added benefits to your hair.
- Mashed avocado
- Mashed banana
- Egg
Mix together your hair mask and apply it all over your hair and let it set for at least 45 min. Shampoo and condition like normal.

Joico! Yes I love that stuff. It really saved my hair in dry spells. Also, aussie 3 minute miracle leave conditioner is amazing too and much cheaper. Also, what helps a lot is anti frizz serums!

Justine that happened to my hair when I was using the It's a 10 with Keratin in it on a daily basis. My hairdresser explained that if you overuse keratin it can be damaging to your hair. I then switched to only using it a couple times a week and now my hair is back to normal. So, it's a 10 does work well, just be cautious about how often you use it if you get the one with keratin.

I do believe they all contain keratin, but the one that says keratin has extra. I could be wrong though.

I haven't seen it so far so I'll just add in, don't use shampoo every day but do use conditioner (let it sit for 3-5 minutes before rinsing). Also, I second pretty much anything from Joico, amazing brand.
