What are your thoughts on gel manicures?

Gel is great, super shiny, lasts forever, flexible yet strong. The only problem is you may never use your regular nail polishes again =P

If you're good at it. I did a gel manicure on myself and hated it. It wasnt with a light though, it was some kit that had a setting gel or something. It was really messy.
