Although you're applying for a makeup store you still need to look professional so I wouldn't do anything crazy.

I'd do something that shows a lot of technical skill. Something like a cut crease maybe?

That's a gorgeous look. Hopefully Tiffany or someone who actually works at MAC comments on this to give insight whether it is appropriate or not!

Normally I would say to keep it neutral and professional but... after seeing your photo, I feel like you should definitely do that. Or something similar to it, the colors are very flattering on you. I would maybe just add a little more blush so you don't look washed out (though that could be the lighting). Good luck!

If you really want to impress mac follow their trend guide lines right now. 4 trends of mac loveworn -rocker chic clothing with mixed fabrics and textures. single toned gray smokey eye with a highlight in the inner corner and natural lip, big lashes. #2 beautiful and damned- tribalistic clothing with rough textures and earthy feel. bold eye and lip, bold eye neutral lip, think about precise placements, big lashes. #3 red 70's - any time period of the 70's. red brown tones for makeup blown all the way to the brow. (a color like rule and using spring trend palette with deep reds) and neutral lip or neutral eye and bold red orange tone lips or a very muted red (the look where its on but not entirely opaque on the lip) and last but not least strength of beauty- high society clothing, the girl everyone wants to look like. high waisted pants or skirt etc. Natural beauty when it comes to makeup, looking essentially like you have no makeup on with a strong yet natural brow.
As far as clothing 100% your best black. Follow the guide lines above to follow trend and you'll be good to go. If anything looks gray against your new black item toss it to the side and find something equal in darkness. Most fake gems in jewelry are not allowed so stick to silvers or golds.
From my experience, they don't want you to show off with an overly large portfolio of images. Bring only professional images for show, if they want to see them they will ask.
Hopefully you find this information helpful, good luck :)

You're welcome :)) Glad I could help. make sure you're well versed in their programs such as mac aids funds, history of the company, back 2 mac etc. Knowing that miley cyrus is the current viva glam spokesperson is helpful as well. :)

Hey, Emma -- I agree with Tiffany - just check the Mac official website and click on "what's new" and you'll see their trends. You look like you might really enjoy Brooke Candy products!

Okay great! Thank you for these examples! So I wouldn't include liner in any of these correct?

Well if you're doing a smokey eye you could put black in the waterline. Other than that, nope.
