It doesn't matter what type of material your jewelry is they're going to smell if you don't clean them every day. I take mine out in the shower and wash my jewelry and lobes with protex antibacterial soap. I use a warm wash cloth on my lobes and rinse my tunnels in warm water. then I use a cocoa butter on my ears. mine never ever smell because I clean them every day and I wear acrylic tunnels.

Clean them, use jojoba oil, and use cocoa butter. try changing out your plugs every now and then and soak the ones you wore in hot water with essential oils.

Plugs or tunnels made out of organic type materials - wood, glass, bone, natural crystal/rock. I guarantee if you try using plugs made out of one of these you'll see a MASSIVE reduction in smell. Works for me :D but they do still need a good wash every week or so.

Wash your ears in the shower. Just take out the plugs and use an antibacterial soap. Peroxide and alchoal will kill all of the bacteria including the good ones that heal. Just remember that that flesh in there is essentially rotting inside of tgere its stank.
