Ok, So, Cocoa Mirage, Honeymoon (OMG!), Titanium Smoke - IS AMAZING, Golden Mink and seductive rose. The rest are great, but these are amazing!
80 dollars is quite a bit for a quad and it is alot of money. You can easily dupe these colors but you can't dupe the formula. Few eyeshadow blend as well and last on the eye like these. The level of elegance that is polished on the eye is unmatched. Sophistication at its prime when dabbing your finger into the glitter shades, an exquisite unique mature sparkle that bumps to any look. If you have the money, you will never regret it. Out of the thousands of eyeshadow that I have, I use these to the pan. It took me 2 years to hit pan using them about twice a week. Outstanding
I mean if I had to go my whole life with one shadow quad I could probably happily do it with Nude dip. It's so richely pigmented that it pretty much blends while you apply it. In terms of application it's just so easy to use. 3 of the 4 shadows are pretty high shine but the shimmer is beautiful and doesn't have a "glittery" fallout. It's just a very beautiful finely milled shimmer sheen. The colors in Nude Dip are also universally flattering so this is a quad that will work for nearly everyone! I have so many others on my wish list after having this one for the past year! Coco Mirage and Honeymoon seem like other must haves!!
I don't know what otherworldly magic Mr. Ford has included in his eyeshadow formulas, but the combination of high pigment, superb blendability, opulent finishes, and impeccable wear time set these in a league of their own. Still have your doubts? There are countless reviews that attest to their high quality, which is why these Eye Quads have become such cult favorites!
My personal favorites are Nude Dip and Honeymoon, which feature a wet-dry formula. These may be used dry for a softer finish or with a dampened brush to create bolder, more intense looks.
I would also like to note that the sheer sparkle shadows, which have the appearance of a pressed shimmer pigment, are meant to be used as a topper with your finger to provide a sophisticated and wearable wet runway look to the lids.
Got it because of Beautylish's layaway/enabler plan.
I mean $80 bucks for a quad, really?
Tom Ford charges it; and yes, the hype is legit and real. The shadows, while dupeable in shades... the formula - stands alone from its supreme qualities. No fallout, kickback, or any of what one believes to be the general norm for eyeshadows; will be no less than astounded by this formula.
It is chic to the nth degree. A sliver of insight into what those with limitless resources have access to... still, as fabulous as it is, I won't fall into the trap of unbridled lust to own every piece of this line.
Does one need this Tom Ford $80 eye palette in nude dip? No.
Should one want this Tom Ford $80 eye palette in nude dip? Yes. And a very breathy one at that.
I got this a few weeks ago and just got a chance to try it today. It's a good one to have. It doesn't excite me quite like my love Nude Dip, but it's a great go to for everyday makeup looks. I used all four shades today to try them together. I used the first one on my brow bone and the center of my eye and the second and third colors blended together in my crease and outer eye. I used the fourth color, the only one with shimmer, blended out from my lower lid. If you have the money and want to own multiple Tom Ford quads, this is a great basic. However, if you only want one, go for on of the fun ones! I can see myself taking this quad on vacations with me when I'll be very causal.
Why! Why! Why! I can't stand TF right now. I love all of these shades. I purchased Nude Dip, Silvered Topaz, and broke down and purchased Honeymoon. Given my age, I was a little concerned about the glitter. So pleased to find that these eyeshadows aren't glittery. Just beautifully pigmented colors that are versatile. Use them wet or dry for a classy sophosticated look. Can someone please send me Cocoa Mirage?!?
Disclaimer: I am incredibly picky with makeup quality. I won't give over 3 stars if it doesn't wow me. I have combo skin with eyelids that lean more on the oily side. I am not a makeup artist, just a well seasoned enthusiast.
I ordered honeymoon. On first glance it is absolutely beautiful. There are a lot of palettes with similar colors BUT these were a little different to me. They have this sheen that just captures you. I tried this with primer and no primer. Here's my take:
The good : they blended beautifully once I found a brush that would pick up enough product. The colors are drop dead gorgeous.
The bad: these seem super dry compared to a lot of formulas I've tried. It was hard to pick up product and I tried multiple brushes. (Blended nice once I could grab product).
The ugly: I ended up with little microglitters everywhere. With primer and without. Using the shades wet also accentuated my 30 something yr old eye texture. Actually was able to see texture I didn't know existed. Also wetting the shadows I STILL ended up with glitter on my face once it dried. Apparently I am doing something wrong.
Overall, I don't feel like this was worth the cost. I am a working mom that rarely gets a treat so buying this was a major splurge. And sadly I'm a bit disappointed. Next time I will definitely go for viseart as they have never let me down. I will continue to play with this in hopes that my mind will be changed.
I own Nude Dip, Orchid Haze and Seductive Rose. I love all three and use them often, but the formula of Nude Dip is incredible! I'm dying to get my hands on Honeymoon since it's the same texture. By far, the best eyeshadow I have ever used. If you buy just one Tom Ford product, let it be one of the eyequads in Nude Dip's formula. No fall out, extreme color pay off, goes on and blends like butter. It's sort of magical! Out of all the Tom Ford products, it's the one I truly feel is worth the hype and the money.
This palette is lovely, however, the shade which has some shimmer in it could really be improved. The mattes are all fantastic, buttery, and perfect (possibly the best mattes I've tried) however the shimmer shade applies slightly patchy, semi-sheer and not as well as the others. For the price, you'd expect every shade to be a++. Otherwise, I am happy with this palette, and I think that it is a great neutral palette to own.
