Medium Density Multi Tasker
The Worker Fan is a beautifully crafted brush, just wasn't quite what I expected/desired out of a fan brush from Sonia G (because I've always known them to be dense). I thought it would be a bit denser, when in actuality it has a moderate density that picks up a decent amount of product, but I didn't find that it diffused/buffed out product enough considering how much product the fibers would pick up. For this reason, I think this brush would be an appropriate option for less pigmented products. I've used this brush for contour, bronzer and highlight, and in swiping motions, circular buffing motions, and turning the brush sideways to use the wide face of the brush to buff out lines. I actually really enjoyed this brush for quick and efficient highlighter application (Hourglass Metallic Strobe palette), but I like the apply my highlighter close to my eyes, and the type of goat hair used on this brush isn't appropriate for that. For contour, I use a pigmented product, and I felt this brush lacked the density to buff out the harsh line of my contour. Same thing for bronzer--I felt that this brush laid the product down in a line on the face and it was difficult to diffuse that line. If you are looking for chiseled lines without much dispersion though, you may like this brush. Lastly, if you have sensitive skin or skin that is easily agitated with perpendicular brush movement, I'm not sure Hakutotsuho is the best fiber option for you--I find it to be sensitizing on my cheeks.7 found this helpful.Filippa O. A wonderful multiuse fan brush
I love this brush!
I wasn’t a fan of fan brushes before, but after seeing reviews of Sonia G’s fan brushes and reading her blog comparing her fan brushes I decided to buy this brush and I love it! It is so incredibly soft and versatile. This brush can be used with bronzer, blush, highlighter and contour and blends perfectly. I definitely recommend getting this brush!4 found this helpful.Anne V. Jul 09, 2020
I never really could get into fan brushes , until I met Sculpt 2 & Sculpt 4 brush. Really it was the sculpt 2 (new release) that blew me away. So when comparing the size to this worker fan I knew I wanted to order it once it was released as an individual. Initially I didn't check and thought this was made of Saikoho, I didn't realize Sonia also used Hakutotsuho. But once I received it I could tell right away it wasn't nearly as soft as the sculpt 4 white hair brush I own. In reading other reviews, I agree this is less dense but due to the hairs used it is more apt to still pick up and apply more pigment - therefore it does better with less pigmented products. I use this mainly with my CT bronzer in med, even though its not as pigmented the product doesn't have kick-up so this picks up product more easily than my sculpt 2 or even sculpt 4 brush. I used it with my ABH bronzer and unfortunately it stained the bristles even after washing several times which i'm not happy about . It's a nice fan brush to add to my collection, but hopefully she comes out with a similar size using the Saikoho white hair instead.4 found this helpful.Shan K. Jun 23, 2020
Sonia changed my life
I never liked fan brushes. I used a thin fan brush before for highlight and thought it was rather ridiculous, hard to control and made a single line so I just stopped fan brushes all together. So whenever I see pictures of fan brushes, I just run. UNTIL I saw review videos that showed how this brush is thicker, but not too thick, dense but not too dense, just a DREAM for bronzer and contour. I couldnt stop bronzing!! I didnt want to put this brush down! Absolutely in love with it! My first and fave brush right now. I'm deep in this Sonia rabbit hole now and I'm dragging all of you down with me!3 found this helpful.Odille B. Jun 26, 2020
Such a nice design. But I just realized that I am just not a fan of Hakutotsuho goat hair. Kind of feels like the tiny brushes that comes with Benefit blushes. I have very sensitive skin and I find this uncomfortable when using it. Sadly, I won't be reaching for this brush :(3 found this helpful.J M. Sep 19, 2020
Use this everyday!
I have the Sculpt Two as well. To me there are very different. The Worker Fan is a little bit bigger and I am fine with that. I use this fan brush for applying translucent powder under my eyes and on my forehead closer to my eyebrows. Yes, I’m one of those people that hates dipping natural goat hair in bronzer. I save that for my Sculpt Two. I disagree with some people that say this brush is not soft. It’s not squirrel but it’s very soft. I have no issues with that. It picks up lots of product and makes it easy to dust on. I also use the Worker Fan to place powder under my contour and then use a buffing brush after it sets. (Picture was taken before I used it. It spreads out nicely after use.)1 found this helpful.
