About Queen/Standard Silk Pillowcase
Slip® pure silk products are made using slipsilk™. Specially-commissioned and made to Slip's exacting standards, slipsilk™ has been developed and refined for over ten years to provide the ultimate combination of shine, thickness, softness, and durability.
Why It’s Special
the slipsilk™ difference
Slipsilk™ is specially-commissioned and developed and refined over ten years to provide the ultimate combination of shine, thickness, softness, and durability. Slip® uses the highest grade (6A) long fiber mulberry silk, with a thickness of 22 momme and enforce the strictest quality guidelines, including non-toxic dyes. Slipsilk™ has been tested by an independent third-party lab and shown to absorb significantly less face cream and create 43% less friction, on average, versus cotton pillowcases. (Compared to widely available cotton pillowcases with a 220-360 thread count).
We spend a third of our lives in bed. Silk fibers are significantly less absorbent than many other fibers, so they can help keep your skin’s moisture and expensive face and hair products where they belong, on your face and hair. Slipsilk™ can help to reduce friction, which can reduce stretching and tugging on delicate facial skin.
anti sleep crease
Ever woken up with a sleep crease? As skin ages, it loses elasticity and sleep creases can become more pronounced and longer-lasting. While the creases usually go away later that day, they can be gradually ‘ironed in’ over the years. Slipsilk™ can help to reduce friction, allowing skin to glide along the pillow while reducing extra pressure on creased skin.
anti bed head
Ordinary pillowcases can cause hair to pull and tangle throughout the night, leading to bed head in the morning and potentially damaging hair, whereas slipsilk™ can help to reduce friction. The world’s most renowned hairstylists and beauty experts have long recommended sleeping on gentle, hair-friendly silk to help preserve your blow out.
How To Care
ALWAYS use a ph neutral liquid detergent and/or fabric softener. Silk is a natural fiber and washing in a solution that’s too acidic or alkaline can cause the silk to harden in a single wash. If you can't find a detergent that specifies ph level then just go for one that specifies silk. Do not use bleach products.
Another important factor is water temperature. Even just slightly above 30 degrees Centigrade or 85 degrees Fahrenheit can change silk dramatically. The safest method if your machine doesn't specify exact heat settings is either cold or just one level above cold.
A delicates bag is optional, depending on your washing machine and whether or not it tends to grab items and tear them.
If you wish to maximize the life of your pillowcase, hand washing is the ultimate method.
The gentler you wash your slip pillowcase, the longer it will keep its sheen. The shinier it is, the better it will 'slip', which is one of the benefits to its health and beauty qualities.
The same goes for drying your pillowcase, do not place in a tumble dryer.

What a life/Hair game changer
First, the HAIR! It was the main reason i bought this. IT WORKS. Waking up, my hair is smoother, less dry, nice flow with my curls in tact; all due to reduced friction. the silk seems to be top-notch quality.
Second, the SKIN! so cool, i mean cool as in cooling effect, not that it's not cool ... cool - know what i mean??!! anyway, back to the point. this fact actually helped my hair too. the fact that the silk cools down and gives less friction, you're less likely to perspire during the night, thus, keeping both your hair and skin smoother. i'm waking up with no marks on my face - which was a problem i had before. so frustrating!!!
My husband actually loves it... This is a big deal coz he usually doesn't believe in the "gimmicks" i buy. this time though, he actually expressed his admiration
Third, ALLERGIES maybe it's too soon for me to give a review about this, i've had only 3 nights using the pillowcase, but so far, i'm waking up less congested. Had to say that, yet i'm not sure if it is directly related to the change... give me some more time. All in all, great product, great quality silk. I love it.
P.S. make sure to get the right size. i did, and i can tell that because my pillow fit perfectly, and there's no wrinkles, i got the best experience.7 found this helpful.Nicole L. May 11, 2020
💤 Sleeping in with Slip
There are several benefits to using silk over cotton, like less friction on your skin so sleep crush is less of a concern - particularly if you have a habit of sleeping on your face or side. Silk also prevents moisture loss and friction so if you're battling frizzy or dry hair, you should be seeing less hair breakage and healthier hair overall. Oh, and they're hypoallergenic.
After a couple of weeks, I can honestly say that I've seen and felt the difference. My hair doesn't look as atrocious when I look in the mirror each morning. In fact, I hardly need to run a comb through it and no sleep lines in sight! #winning2 found this helpful.
