I'm a skin care product junkie. I constantly try the "latest", "newest", "just launched", "will change your life" cleansers and moisturizers- you name it- as soon as I read a handful of great reviews.
That said- I only have a few staples that never leave my sink side and I never leave home without.
This thermal cleansing balm is the mothership of all of my cleansers. It takes priority over all others and trumps all others without question.
Sometimes I double cleanse and will use this first, then follow with a second cleanser- but that's just me loving the process and experience of products. I absolutely don't need any more than this.
Eve lom makes a cleansing balm. I actually tried this thermal cleansing balm by Omorovicza first and because it was my first experience with cleansing balms, I started looking all over for others on the market to try to figure out which one was really the best- and maybe with a bit of prayer -that I'd find something as good or better that was way more affordable.
But I never have. The Eve Lom balm just doesn't do it for me. It feels like wax in comparison to this product.
When you use this, you don't need much- a quarter size (double if you really wanna indulge and relax) is all it takes. It feels like a thick weird grease almost as you massage it into your skin. I always massage it all over my face first, then end with massaging over my eyes. That's because this stuff is soooo good at getting off any eye makeup whether waterproof or shellacked onto your lids- that at almost first contact-your liner, mascara, shadows- all instantly break down and turn into a giant blur of black/raccoon eyes instantly. And I prefer to not rub that all around my face too. There's no scrubbing or pulling or pushing needed to break down make up. It does it effortlessly. You simply and gently massage into face, relax and enjoy...then
Using the omoro cleansing mitt, or any washcloth run under warm water then rung out to a damp state (not wet- needs to be just a warm damp cloth) you simply wipe off the balm, rinse the mitt, ring it out, continue softly wiping off in sections -until it's all off.
And I promise you- when you touch your skin after you've finished- you'll want to do nothing else for a while.
It's truly awesome. Cannot recommend this product enough!36 found this helpful.Janine B. Jan 30, 2015
I am amazed by the quality and efficacy of this cleansing balm. In this case, you pay for what you get really. Yes, it is on the high end of the scale in terms of price, but a little bit goes a long way and you will end up with insanely soft balanced skin after using this cleansing balm. The trick is definitely using a mitt or a cleansing cloth after applying the balm and letting the cloth sit for a few seconds on your face with warm/somewhat hot water wrung out, and allow the steam to lift your makeup off. Honestly, my skin has never felt more amazing after cleansing. The smell and texture really make me excited to use it. It smells very "spa" like, and there are tiny black granules in it that exfoliate extremely gently. After removing my makeup, which it does a great job of, I almost feel like I don't need moisturizer because of how soft and hydrated my skin looks and feels. This cleansing balm is definitely a worth while investment for balanced, hydrated skin!16 found this helpful.Janine G. Apr 29, 2015
a product that lives up to its hype
Normally I would take at least half a star off for the price point of this cleansing balm ($110/1.7oz is not in your average Jane's budget) HOWEVER this is the only cleanser I've ever used that actually did everything it claimed it would do for my skin. Seriously, I hate the overuse of the word 'amazing' but Omorovicza amazed me with this.
I have fair, oily and breakout prone skin that typically responds badly to any cleanser other than Ecologic's Green Clay Facial Soap. Since that soap stings when removing my eye makeup I decided to try a free sample of Thermal Cleansing Balm just on my eyes; it took everything off and my eye area looked and felt like I'd had a spa treatment. I tried it on the rest of my face and the same thing happened. A little really does go a long way worth this so after several uses of equally impressive results I must give this a full 5 stars.13 found this helpful.Kelly Z. Dec 29, 2014
This product was a splurge for me since it is very expensive however my face feels amazing after I use it. I didn't mind the scent although it does feel earthy, however since this is a product that is derived from Budapest mud, what else would someone expect? My skin is very sensitive, so I wanted to use it a few times before writing my review. I have had excellent results and my face feels very clean and soft after a cleanse with this product. Also, the cleansing mitt is made of a very high quality cotton which makes it a perfect complement to this product. The small scoop which is included is nice, and I'm happy that only a small amount of product is needed, so I expect my product will last a long time.11 found this helpful.Rachel R. Dec 24, 2014
New "Holy Grail" Cleanser
I love this stuff. There is something familiar about the scent. It is distinct, but I do not mind it. The balm is a dream to rub on and it removes ALL of my makeup. It is the first cleanser I've used (aside from straight up oil cleansing) where my skin didn't feel dry and tight afterwards. My skin has become clearer of blemishes, as well. I purchased the full size after running out of the sample. I highly recommend this, it's worth the price if you can swing it!8 found this helpful.Marissa L. Dec 20, 2014
Not worth the money!
First of all, this stuff stinks! I had read reviews that said they enjoyed the scent but boy was it not for me. Way too "woodsy/earthy" I basically had to plug my nose to use it. I did enjoy the results. My face felt great afterwards but it definitely didn't feel that much better than other (much cheaper) cleansing balms I've used like clinique's TTDO or the bodyshop's.7 found this helpful.Nicole D. I am in love with this cleanser. it smells of charcoal but the scent is faint to me and I don't mind it at all. I feel like my skin has become more clear since using it. I definitely think it is super expensive for a cleanser so I am trying to make it last. i got a sample bur have since bought the full size.it is my favorite I'm addition to Oskia cleansing balm.6 found this helpful.Susan M. Not worth the price
I have tried both this cleanser and Charlotte Tilbury's Multi-Miracle Glow. This one is really nice, but I honestly can't tell any difference in the way my face feels after using this and the Charlotte Tilbury one. Both make my face feel equally soft, hydrated, clean, and remove all my makeup. Another plus to Charlotte's is that it smells better and only costs $60.6 found this helpful.Huiyi C. Aug 15, 2015
Absolutely love this cleansing balm. It left my dehydrated skin soft and plump. It removes make up and dirt effectively without drying the skin out. Skin is sufficiently hydrated and soft. Use it together with the cleansing foam to retain the moisture and clean skin. Definitely recommend this for daily evening skin care.4 found this helpful.
