When I first signed up for Beautylish I got a $10 credit, so I was like hooray - new makeup! I loved that Beautylish showed swatches on light and dark skin so I got an idea of what the colors would look like. I decided to try out Inglot's lipsticks because I had heard such good things about them, and $6 for a high-quality makeup was too much to resist. I got 5 in the 5-pan Freedom palette. Can I say I love this system? Instead of buying a palette where only 2 or 3 of the colors worked, I got to select my own. I bought 1, 2, 9, 27, and 33.
First thing - Beautylish is amazing. They ship SO FAST. I got this package in about 2 days, before something I had ordered BEFORE this. And it had a cute handwritten message inside. :D
I love pan lipsticks because of the precision you get when applying them with a lip brush, but the ones I've had in the past don't seem to stay for long. Inglot's lipsticks stay FOREVER. They even survive eating - not full strength, of course, but you keep a bit of tint on your lips afterwards. I experimented with them the first day and even wiping them off with a tissue took some effort; I still had some stain on my lips. They are highly pigmented and non-drying, and they smell delicious.
I have to say that I am not a big fan of 1 on my medium-brown African American skin. It was too light orangey, and it just didn't go well alone. However, I really love the other colors. 2 is a pretty coral (they look very similar on the screen, but they look quite different on my skin); 9 is actually a bright shiny red; 27 is a raspberry and 33 is a pinky plum. I also layered 1 with some other colors and I like that - I didn't want the hassle of returning one $6 pot of lipstick so I'm going to be mixing it with other stuff to get a great look.
These were a little disappointing, but it's probably just the colors I chose. I bought 17 and 7, which I thought would be counterparts for my staples Wet N Wild Think Pink and NYX Honey. They were both VERY light; lighter than the swatches let on. Maybe if they were swatched on lips like the Armour Beauty glosses I could've judged better? Anyway, I'm positive that both of these, especially 17, would look incredible on a darker lady, but they made me look like an alien. That's fine, but I meant my palette to be an everyday/travel palette heeheehee
The reason for the "average" rating is the quality. They applied patchy, and moved around a lot when I pressed my lips together. I don't trust these to stay on my lips long. Again, this might be because I chose such strange colors and I still might purchase more Inglot lipsticks in the future. But honestly, for $6 a pop I was expecting better.
Color is exactly as shown...gorgeous! It goes on so smoothly...because it's so creamy! And I don't remember it being advertised as long lasting, but it stays on all day for me. I love it. I ordered other colors and the same is true for all. INGLOT offers such an array of gorgeous colors. This was my first purchase of INGLOT, but not my last!I I'm a satisfied customer!!!!
I bought it and must say it is really is awesome. It's creamy and stays on well... and compliments my face. I am sure it will also last long because you don't need to use much.
This color is a bright matte red color, and I love it. I didn't have anything like it in my makeup arsenal - I had shiny reds and glossy reds, but no regular classic red. It looks pinker on the screen than it is; it even looks pinker in the pan but it comes on red, and I love it. Great coverage, not drying, long-lasting.
I love this shade and I feel it is the sort of colour you would choose for on a more everyday bases. Recommended for fair/tanner shades. But worth the price.
Great and very helpful with girls who want there lipstick to ACTUALLY show. 👌 And it is on for a very long amount of time! I would recommend this to any girl who loves lipstick.
Very pleasantly surprised!!!! I put this on & had done a ton of yard work then eaten lunch and drank a ton. Probably hit my e-cig about 50 times during time, I basically forgot I had put it on. I looked in the mirror hours later and this lipstick was still just as perfect as when I had put it on! Thats crazy! I have to be honest, I tried the Inglot Freedom System purely on trusting Beautylish & the fact that they only seek out quality products for the site. Unbelievable. Now I'll be getting a bigger compact than the 4 square I started with. I have another shade I cannot wait to try, it's this great purple. Very great price for a product that rivals my high end lipsticks.
I like purple tinted lipstick, but don't wear straight purple. I use this shade to soften the look. It's beautiful. Also, harsh colors are softened by this shade without losing the original color. I just love this shade by itself, too.
So there's nothing wrong with the lipstick formulation itself - I did a general review of Inglot lipsticks on the general page, and I love them. For the cost of a drugstore brand (cheaper, actually, because I live in NYC) you get a large pan of high-quality, highly-pigmented lipstick. Love!
But I just wasn't in love with this color on my lips. As you can see I'm a brown-skinned black girl and it's too bright for my skin tone. I am using it to layer with other colors to make them pop a little bit, and it's good for that - especially mixed with a red to make a corally-red color. But alone - not a fan.
