It’s been such a pleasure testing out this Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer from one of my favorite brands: GOOD MOLECULES. If the silicone-free aspect caught your attention, it should. Science claims silicone doesn’t break the skin out, but after much research and listening to customers Good Molecules came to the conclusion that Silicone DOES contribute to breakouts in some humans. So they developed this formula which is full of nurturing ingredients that nourish the skin while also prepping it for makeup application! **This hydrating primer really helps to seal my foundation without causing any cakey or oiliness. It helped to evenly distribute my foundation which you’ll see in the photo I included. This has even helped my matte foundation look less like a blanket of desert sand on my skin, lOl. It also gave my foundation longevity! My foundation lasted for more than 8 hours thanksgiving day! NO touch ups and I still looked presentable :)
An incredible primer that rivals Laura Mercier Hydrating Primer, Makeup Forever Hydrating Primer, NARS Hydrating Primer & Fenty Soft Mate Primer.
I am an admitted recovering foundation junkie. What is a great foundation without the perfect primer? A great foundation of course with primer you just get that all day slay.
Primer works awesome with Danessa Myricks Vision Cover and Fenty foundations!
I love this primer. It is very hydrating and gives me the ability to not have to touch up my complexion for 12 hours +.
The price is amazing for the quality.
It also works well with my Eve Lom sunscreen SPF 50.
This is such a beautiful, lightweight, yet nourishing moisturizer. It absorbs in seconds, smoothes my skin texture, layers beautifully with my other products and works great under my makeup.I'm seriously impressed by the performance of this moisturizer. My makeup stays fresh throughout the day. If you're looking for a good quality priming moisturizer at an affordable price, this is it.
So first, I purchased this myself, and am so glad! I was worried that the shea butter would trigger a breakout but my skin is very happy with this product! Being acne prone, sensitive, and fighting signs of aging, finding a moisturizer that's right for me is nothing short of a nightmare. I took a chance on this because I do think that dimethicone in my other products are causing my skin to break out, despite what *science* says about silicone. I love this product! It takes a little bit of work to get it rubbed in to my skin in some areas, but I also cleanse, tone and chemically exfoliate before that, so I think it's just the layering process for me. It absorbs very well and I was honestly worried that putting my spf over it, which is a matte priming spf from Super goop, would make it look weird (with double primers and all) but it works seamlessly. I don't wear a lot of makeup, so I can't speak much to the priming benefits of it, but as a moisturizer it does it's job wonderfully and most importantly DOESN'T BREAK ME OUT! I also use a lot of actives and rotate retinol in and out, so my skin can get super dry and flaky. I was having issues with dry spots in my morning routine because of this, so I was really looking for a moisturizer that would combat that. And with this one, so far so good - no dry flaky spots when I apply my spf! So acne prone, sensitive skin friends - rejoice because this just may be your new holy grail! Also, the price point is so, so reasonable. Thank you Good Molecules for making this, I love you!!
I love this moisturizer, why? It’s the perfect texture not to heavy or light. It spreads beautiful leaves a well prepped skin. It layers beautifully with skin care+ spf. It keeps my skin moisturized all day without the greasiness and is a great price point. I honestly enjoy using it and reach for it every day.
I've tried other primers from cheap drugstore (waste of money) to expensive samples (waste of time). I was beginning to think this "primer" business was a total gimmick, after all I've been using foundation all my life without a primer so why start now? I took a chance & purchased this ONLY BECAUSE I LOVED THEIR CLEANSING BALM. I was so pleasantly surprised by this moisturizing primer! I get it now, I see what a primer can do and Should do! I use this daily & love it! Fyi, there is no scent that I can detect, absorbs quickly leaves no greasy or oily feeling. Very light weight as well
This is my new everyday primer. My makeup lasts all day, and it feels nice applying it. I noticed it gives my skin that little extra boost of hydration it needs being in a dry, office environment. No issues with breakouts or sensitivity issues! I would definitely recommend this product to everyone.
I love this moisturizer it looks & feels hydrating without feeling greasy, my only negative is that I need a bigger bottle it's like 1.5oz
I'm a fan of most all of the other Good Molecules products, so when they came out with the Silicone-Free Priming Moisturizer, I decided to order it right away! So far, so good!
I've never been a big fan of makeup primers (and I don't use makeup every day, usually a couple of times a week) but it does do very well under makeup and layers nicely with everything else I use in my face routine daily.
I'm also not generally a big fan of moisturizers in general - most of them are way too gloopy and gloppy for me - but being over 50, I know I need moisturizing & hydrating in my daily routine so I was willing to give this one a try.
This moisturizer is definitely NOT gloopy and gloppy! The texture is really nice, really just right, and it goes on pretty white but absorbs well and isn't greasy at all, and feels really good on my face with no breaking out whatsoever + no smell whatsoever (yay, big plus!). I really only need to use a little bit on my face and neck, so this bottle will definitely last me a long time.
If I'm going to stick to using a moisturizer daily, this one from GM will definitely be the one! For me personally, though, I already use a sunscreen that contains a lot of moisturizing ingredients as well as several of the GM face oils (including the Squalane Oil twice daily, which I'm totally in love with)... and I don't really have issues with dry skin, my face tends to lean towards the oily side but not really.
All that said, at this point I'm on the fence about whether I really need this extra addition to my routine or not since I'm already using 3 serums + 1-3 face oils + moisturizer-laden sunscreen daily, but I'm going to use this bottle of moisturizer until it's empty and see how things go from there before I make an absolute decision.
But definitely if I do decide to continue with a moisturizer, this GM Moisturizer will be it! And if you're an always-daily-moisturizer user, it's definitely worth a try!
Light and hydrating, love it! Great texture and love the price point. I use it everyday!
