From a subtle, lit-from-within glow to a bold metallic highlight, the Z Series Z-2 Highlight Brush from Chikuhodo does it all. Super-soft gray squirrel bristles glide over the skin without scratching or kicking up dry, flaky patches. The tapered tip lets you highlight even detailed areas like the browbone and bridge of the nose.
Glide the bristles over the high points of the face where light naturally hits, like the tops of the cheekbones, browbone, and tip of the nose. Use more pressure for larger areas and less pressure for detail work.
“The Z series is the most luxurious we have, and made from the softest hair, which won’t irritate even really sensitive skin.” See the lookbook for the Z Series here.

if you ask me which is the amazing one in Z. I would definitely say Z2. This is the best brush that I've never enjoyed in other brands. z4 is a bit useless to me honestly. If I was able to try everything before order. I would get Z2 and Z8. Z2 is not only a cheek highlight but also for eyes and nose. Anyway it is really a brush for highlighter. A z2 plus Z8, works better than using z4. Picture is z4,z2&8
this brush is absolutely amazing. it is so luxurious and soft and applies a gentle wash of color to the face. its wonderful. i don't regret paying the hefty price tag for it and i use it every day. i have washed it a few times and it has not shed a hair or lost any of its soft feel. it did have that dead, wet animal smell when wet but it lost the smell after the second washing. the only reason i can't give it 5 full stars is because i don't care for the handle. i feel like for the price i pay it should be a little heavier and more substantial weight. of course that is a minor thing. the handle is so light weight almost feels hallow. i own several of the hakuhodo kokutan series brushes and i like the weight of the wooden handle and solid build. this brush scares me that i might dent it if i mistakenly bump it into something. now as much as i feel its important to take care of my make up items that are pricey i also feel that when i pay a certain price it should withstand the test of use and time. at any rate i would buy this brush over and over again because it performs so beautifully and feels amazing on the skin. the shape is perfect for highlighting.
This is my favorite brush to use with Kevyn Aucoin's Sculpting Powder. It is a candle shaped brush that tapers to a point. I like to run the point across the powder lightly then sweep under my cheekbone. The brush will do the blending for you perfectly. Depending on the pressure you apply you can control how precise or broad each stroke of color you apply. I like to contour my jawline and down my neck and this brush gets the job done effortlessly. It can be used for highlighting as well.
I bought this after falling in love with the Z4 and Z8.
Bought this pointy-er one to apply highlighting powder under the eye and its perfect.
Photos attached from left to right is the Z2, Z8, Z4, Suqqu cheek brush and Suqqu powder brush.
I find the bristles on these Chikuhodo softer and more dense and much would recommend this above the Suqqu, esp given Suqqu's price (all the writing has worn off also).
The other day I got my takumi highlight brush in and was in love already but out of curiosity I ordered this one to. I love highlight and contour brushes. I do not regret buying it because I use this brushes over and over again. Chikuhodo has out done themselves on these highlighter brushes. Softer than the takumi but both are good. It applies just a good amount of every powder. Buy either one you will love it.
It's truly the best brand of make up brush there is. It's for powder products only. The hairs help with picking up product, depositing and blending. It gives the effortless look of beautiful placed makeup or in other words a flawless face. Love it. Im greatful for Beautylish for bringing them to the U.S. 💖
This brush is so soft, I purchased it to use it as a highlighter brush, which is what I love it for, but when I'm looking to add a soft bit of contour I can also use it for that! Love it!
Incredible powder collection and depositing machine. Does really transform all my powders. Worth every penny.
I find that the shape is very versatile for any kind of powder application, be it highlight, finishing or blush. Product does not transfer when switching between say blush and finishing powder. I do use it all over my face, but am considering getting a larger cheek or face brush for finishing powder as the tapered point does mean it takes a while to work mineral foundation all over.
This brush is incredible. So soft, its amazing and makes makeup even more of a joy to apply. I feel like I'm doing something so special for myself when I use this brush. You won't be disappointed!!
I love this brush so much! It is the softest most luxurious brush I have ever felt, it hasn't shed one hair and it feels like air on the face! It's such an incredible brush!
