i purchased several in this series of brushes. pretty much every single one but 3, the eye brow, powder, and foundation brush. i was nervous because i purchased several of the z-series and although they are by far some of the softest brushes i own i had issues with the overall construction of the z-series. these however oh my oh my! are lovely. i did a little research and found out that they are made of saikoho goat hair (some of the super softest goat hair there is) so i bought them. i am embarrassed to admit i'm a brush horder. i love brushes. all price points and fibers i hate to say i have a lot. these are beautifully made. solid construction and each brush is fully packed with fibers no open spaces and the goat hair....oh sooo soft. i tend to gravitate towards goat hair brushes because they are soft but have enough structure to grab product. as much as i love my squirrel brushes sometimes they are too soft to be functional or to blend or apply product. these are absolutely amazing. my hakuhodo saikoho brushes still are my all time favorites but these are right behind them in second place. the handle is light weight. feels solid but has a nice weight to them.19 found this helpful.Linda X. Perfect Powder Brush
This is my first CHIKUHODO brush and I am definitely going to try more from the line. I have normal to dry skin so I only use powder for my T zone and to set under-eye concealer. The pointy shape of this brush allows me to get into small areas like the side of my nose without getting powder on my cheeks. I pair it with Laura Mercier Translucent powder and it sets my make up beautifully for all day long.9 found this helpful.Marianna K. Mar 24, 2016
Perfect Highlight Brush
I have a large collection of high quality makeup brushes (most from Beautylish) and I have a few that are made for applying highlighter. I like them all but I have to say that this one is my absolute favorite. It is very soft and doesn't disturb the makeup I have already applied but it has enough texture to grab, apply, and blend highlighter perfectly. The shape helps to make precise application easy. I am so glad that I added it to my collection.8 found this helpful.Coco C. Apr 26, 2015
Super soft and smelled great (I wonder if CHIKUHOKO perfumes these brushes). The point is tapered enough to blend light colored eyeshadow for a wash of color across the lid making it easy and quick to do a natural eye look with just one shade and liner. It is delicate and, although worth the price, you may want to use it with light powders that you can wipe off with a tissue rather than heavy pigments because I am not sure how well the brush will hold up against repeated washings. For a diffused sweep of powder around sensitive eyes, this brush is for you.5 found this helpful.Soksann K. May 04, 2015
No pulling or tugging
This brush is so good for highlighting , set under eye concealer or even contouring. its just so soft that there is no tugging whats so ever. Picks up the perfect amount of powder for me. The price is price compare to my other brushes but its so worth it. I do love how light the handle are. Wont be disappointed buying this one from beautylish.com. Beautylish.com has great customer service. Just email them so you can get more info on the chikuhodo brushes, this will be an investment.4 found this helpful.Kelly H. Apr 23, 2015
I've heard that CHIKUHODO brushes were good, but this brush is AMAZING! The bristles are SO soft and it's just the perfect size for me to apply powdered highlighter to my cheekbones and bridge of my nose without too much product. I initially didn't want to use it....it's such a beautiful brush! But I caved in and was so impressed by the softness. The only reason for 4.5 stars is that it is just a bit pricey. However, I would highly recommend this brush to my friends and any other Beautylish lovers. Thanks, Beautylish, for such a great product!4 found this helpful.Joyce Y. Aug 13, 2016
Love it but it sheds
The CHIKUHODO Takumi brushes are gorgeous. The bristles are so soft and pick up products well. And of course, the design of the handle looked beautiful too. I was buying it for put on highlight powder. I was using it everyday. However, it was unexpectedly shed after 2 weeks. For the first bristle that shed on to my face, I was really shot and think "omg, is my new brushes shedding...and why for such a good quality brush to shed???" I didn't believe it. But it kept shedding afterward :( I am not dare to use it right now. Just stored it up.
My other CHIKUHODO brushes with the same order are fine. May be this one had been shipped with quality defects...I am not sure!3 found this helpful.
