I had the rare opportunity to try this at the same time I was using the Boscia Detoxifying Black Cleanser -- I have to say I like the Black slightly better. Both leave your skin smooth and nicely moisturized without greasiness or that 'tight' feeling you get after some cleansers, but the Black was better at clearing every little speck of sebum from the pores. This cleanser is great for every day use, but if you have blackheads or large pores, I think the Black is better for you.
I have rosacea, yet I still deal with blackheads. I need to be careful about what I use. Anything too harsh that could clear blemishes would actually cause a flare up of the rosacea redness and pustules. The creases by my nose were troublesome with blackheads and often gave off a foul odor. Obviously what I was using to gently clean my face wasn't taking care of these trouble spots.
I bought this cleanser a month ago and am completely satisfied. My skin feels cleaner without feeling dry or irritated. There are virtually no blackheads either.
The one thing I'd like to comment on is the amount they recommend using. The instructions on here suggest using one full pump. I suppose that may be true if you have makeup to remove. This cleanser feels concentrated and one full pump gives a lot of soap with lots of suds, needing more rinse time than I usually do.
However, I don't wear makeup on a daily basis and feel that one pump gives you far too much soap. I try to barely touch the pump, getting a few drops at a time until I have an amount that's about 1/3 to 1/2 pump.
I am a 19 year old girl with extremely sensitive combo (dry and oily) skin and acne. I've tried numerous brands and kinds of cleansers from drugstores to high-end and every single one of them has either broke me out or made my skin extremely dry.
I have also tried Cetaphil's cleansers which did not work as well.
I took a risk with this product, knowing that there's a high chance of it breaking me out just like the others. However, to my amazement, this product not only cleans my face well but kept my break outs at bay. I hardly break out now and my skin feels soft like a baby's bum after wash!
I'm onto my third bottle and I refuse to give it up. I can only find it at Sephora stores here and even though it is a little pricey at SGD$39, it's worth the buy for me.
I actually really loved using this product. It's so gentle on my face and left my face feeling fresh. I would recommend anyone to buy this product. Too bad I don't have it anymore because I used the entire bottle. It came to the point where I was putting water inside the bottle just to pump out the last bit that was left. I would get this product again.
I have both the black detoxifying cleansing gel and this clear purifying gel. They both work great and leave my skin feeling fresh and smooth. Not too dry and not to oily. Just right. I also feel the boscia cleansers have helped clear up my adult onset acne.
The light gel texture and mild scent of this product is really pleasant to use on a daily basis. It cleanses the excess sebum and oil production that gathers on my skin over the course of the day rather efficiently as it does foam up ever so slightly. I use this with my Clarisonic Mia in the evening and find that my skin is left without the impurities that collect within the pores over the day without stripping my skin of its natural moisture. I use this in the morning with just my hands and it works equally well but does not foam up as much as with my Clarisonic. I appreciate the sulfate-free formula since I do not see why that is still an ingredient in cleansers as it will really disrupt the skin’s moisture barrier. You will get that squeaky clean feeling with sulfates but it really takes away all the oil that is naturally there to keep the skin healthy.
I also prefer cleansers with antioxidants such like this one from boscia since they will help combat free radicals the skin is exposed to during the day. I understand that the cleanser is only in contact with my face for a short time but any nourishment I can get from each steps within my routine is appreciated. More than anything else, I love the subtlety of this product as it does its job well and doesn’t cause any issues. I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin that does not react well to many products. I have used and repurchased this one many times over the years as it is just a great stand-by. It reminds me of that saying that if you do something right, they won’t notice you’ve done anything at all.
