Beauty Product Reviews

Weird looking, and AMAZING in action!

I was curious about this one... I have a lot of Wayne's brushes... over 20. This one is different from any other brush I have, and I think it's genius. I've read a few reviews that don't like the length of the bristles, as it leaves them able to splay out... If I want a narrower profile, I simply choke down on the brush - holding the bristles lightly between my fingers to shorten the bristles for more control. That said, I rarely need to do this, as I find the brush very easy to control to get exactly the look I'm after. I'm a MUA, so I use a lot of different brushes, but there is definitely a place for this brush on my short list. Thanks, Wayne!

Meh - Not for everyone...

I have VERY dry skin... I cleanse with homemade oils and moisturize with homemade creams and have never found anything to buy that keeps me moisturized. I thought from the reviews this would be right up my alley, but ... UN cover up is right. I can't see that it does anything at all for me.

I'm a MUA, and I will give it a try on some of my clients and see how it works on them, and may update my review at that time, but when I use it I have to go over so many places with my normal concealer (Kat Van D) or my regular base (BY TERRY Terrybly Densiliss Wrinkle Control Serum Foundation ) to get the coverage I need, I might as well start with those and forget this completely.

I also found that it does not last out my work day - which is only 4 hours, so that was also disappointing.

Finally, I was also surprised and disappointed at the size of the bottle .. which is my fault - I should've paid more attention ... but this came in the exact same size bottle as the illuminator . . . a product I use regularly, but only such a small amount at a time it is affordable enough to use professionally. This was waaaay too much $$ for the amount of product, IMO. My normal foundation is certainly not inexpensive ($116), but ... a pea sized drop does my entire face, whereas this foundation took so many layers to feel it did ANYthing . . .

When my skin was young and perfect . . . this would've been great for me. But now that I'm aging and have some broken capillaries on my eye lids and redness on my nose and a few age spots here and there . . . it's just not working for me.

I LOVE the illuminator, and the un powder (it's VERY fine ... If I could afford to use it on movie sets I would, but it's also in a pretty small container). This, however, is a pass for me. :-(

Pleasantly surprised!

I am always skeptical with these types of "giveaways..." but in this case, there was no need. I wish I had ordered a dozen! I got so many things that are now on my "always use" list - things that, as a professional MUA I probably would not have tried due to the price tag... I tend to purchase things I know work for me, and I make a lot of my own cosmetics for use on set. I'm back on Beautylish now purchasing some of the things I got in this box so I can have one at on my dresser and one in my kit. Really super choices. Thank you!

My Favorite, Hands Down

I'm a MUA, and I have had access to pretty much every brand of foundation out there. I don't use this on set - it's too expensive! But this is what I use on myself... I have dry skin and, like Marilyn Monroe, prefer a dewy look as I age, and this gives that - in spades. NO settling into fine lines, no caking as the day progresses, just the perfect amount of dewy coverage that lasts until I take it off. I no longer am on the lookout for my perfect foundation. I'm on my third bottle, and the love affair continues.
