Not Everyone's Neutral Palette

The colors in this palette are much too warm to be called universal neutrals. I have a pale complexion and there is no way on my skin tone that these colors are neutral. I am basically a "winter" with hazel eyes. I can blend the shadows so that they are wearable but it always ends up being a glam 'made up' look. If you have a tawny or golden complexion it may be well sited for you or if you are a fair skinned redhead. The shadows themselves are super pigmented ... so much so that given the colors you have to work with it's difficult achieve subtle definition with them. Shade 4 is so coppery that is reads almost burnt orange with a sheen and not my idea of a neutral. Shade 5 is the only matte color in the entire palette other than the black and therein lies part of the problem for me. I feel this palette needs a pale matte shade for a basic lid shade and to help tone down some of the over the top warmth without adding shine. I feel there needs to be a balance between cool and warm shades, but sadly there isn't. This isn't an "essential" palette for me, however, for those who have warmer skin tones and who wear warmer colors this palette may be one you will find yourself reaching for. The topper is quite pretty and something Wayne might want o consider offering on its own. I do hope he will come out with a cooler palette of neutrals, perhaps taupeyy shades with a lilac shimmer and a deep brown- black instead of black.
