Not what I was expecting

I have been a Fude brush collector for some time and have many different Koyudo brushes as well as many other brands. Koyudo has been one of my favorites for years. The prices are reasonable and they make some of the most unique brushes out there. I purchase the holiday sets each year. Last years set was amazing (still available for purchase here) and the powder brush is one of my top 10 favorites. This set just didn't wow me like last years did. I am not a huge fan of dyed black goat hair. That being said it is still a great price for a face brush, 2 eyeshadow, 1 brow and a small storage bag and I am happy to have added it to my collection. All are full size (for Koyudo) and remind me of the Casual Series line of brushes. The handles are beautiful! They are a pearlescent white and have a pale blue shimmer to them with pale blue accents similar to snowflakes. The blue design is only on the front of the handles though. It doesn't wrap around. The brushes are nicely balanced and easy to hold. Handles are made of wood. All have Koyudo printed on the front of the handles but the name of the brush is not printed on them. The angled face brush is goat hair and is soft to the skin. I have read reviews from others saying it is poor quality and very rough on the skin. Mine is not coarse or feel prickly on the face at all. I have used it several times and I wash all my brushes after each use so has been washed several times as well. It has held up great and still looks new. Where this set really shines is the Eye brushes. The rounded, flat eye brush is made with Grey Squirrel and is super soft. The tapered eye brush is made with Pony hair and can pack the color into the corners of the eye. The angled brow brush is also made with Pony hair although I don't se it for the brows. The size and softness of tis brush makes it ideal for precision highlight around the brows or shading in the nose area. The set also comes with a small Rose colored storage pouch. The pouch is nothing special. It appears to be quite cheaply made and not something I would use or purchase. It has no pockets or anything inside. The only thing that sets it apart from any other cheap one is that it says Koyudo on a black tab at the side of the bag. I would have paid more for the set if they had added a beautiful wood box or something else. The pouch for me is utterly useless.

Amazing brush!

I am a brush junkie with a weakness for Japanese Fude. I have brushes from many different brands, Wayne Goss, Rae Morris, Hakuhodo, Chikuhodo, Koyudo and more. Sonia G brushes are absolutely amazing. Not only are they beautiful to look at they do their job and do it well. I have been searching for “the one” bronzer brush for years. I have many in my collection but none checked off all my boxes. Until this one! I can’t express how much I love this brush for bronzer. So much that I purchased another to have as a back up. It picks up product easily no matter the type. Hard pressed, soft pressed or loose. It doesn’t matter. It can do it all. Ive purchased just about all the brushes in her line except for a select few. Just waiting for the restock to complete my collection. Sonia’s brushes are worth the price. I use them daily and have hardly reached for my other ones since I got them. Super soft. Some of the softest goat hair brushes I own and I have a ton. No issues with shedding. They wash well and retain their shape.
