Beauty Product Reviews

A great "essential"

This was my first ever Natasha Deanna product. I bought it because I loved the colors in this petite collection...they are beautiful neutrals that are not brown. Very flattering with my (light) skin tone and hazel eyes.

I am very happy to have this in my makeup collection.

Take a bow (I mean, brow!) Love this brush!

This is hands down the best lash/brow comb that I've ever used.

LASH SIDE The tines on the "lash" side are metal so they are easy to clean. Rae Morris recommends loading this side of the brush with mascara (on the tip of the tines) and applying directly to lashes. This works well, though I am still getting the hang of it as I usually wear Lashify underlash segments on my lashes so I don't do it that often.

I use this same metal side of the brush to comb through my lashes after I've applied mascara (with the applicator that comes in the tube) and it works wonderfully...so much better than any lash comb I've used before (including other ones with metal tines as this RM one is the right size to do the job with a handle that is the perfect length).

I also like this side of the brush to comb through my Lashify lashes...it's really helpful to get a "glue gob" off of my lashes.

Finally...I use this side of the brush to comb through my brows ... sometimes I get flaky skin in my brows and this comb helps to get them out of my brow hair.

BROW SIDE This side of the brush is just a REALLY GOOD brow comb. It's better than any other one I have used before.

MAGNETIC When I initially bought my first Rae Morris brush (the #27, Mini Radiance), I just got it because I wanted the brush, I wasn't thinking about the convenience of having it be magnetic. 🧲 I loved the brush so I bought a few more in the RM range...and at the time Beautylish was offering the Rae Plate as a GWP.

I wasn't prepared for how AMAZING it would be to have my brushes stand up separately, without touching each other, so I could easily grab the right brush and not have to sort through them all in a brush holder. I know that this may not sound like a big deal, but believe me it has been a game changer in my morning makeup routine. It makes things so much faster and easier.

Now, you may be thinking that a magnetic brush that stands up by itself is a nice thing to have, but what about the quality of the brush itself? Every single brush that I have so from the Rae Morris line, even if they weren't magnetic, is as good or better than any other brush I have used. (All my RM brushes are the newer, synthetic bristle ones). In some cases the shapes are really innovative (such as the 6.5 Angled Eye Blender), but even when the shape of the brush head may be similar to other brushes I own, the performance of the RM have been, as I said above, as good or better.

You can REALLY tell that a working MUA has perfected this line of brushes over the years. They are really wonderful. I am slowly changing over to them and have stopped buying brushes from other companies, even ones whose brushes I enjoy using, because the ease of use of the excellent RM brushes combined with the magnetized bases (not to mention the ease of cleaning them and NEVER ever having to worry whether I have the right brush to use for cream/liquid/powder, etc)

Houdini for Hooded Lids

I recommend that you watch Rae Morris' quick how-to video on this brush (you can find it on her website) to make sure you know which way to hold it, and then...Poof! This brush just knows what to do, it does the work for you, no experience required. It creates shading just in the right place on a hooded lid so it removes the guesswork.

It is a rather uniquely shaped, triangular brush coming up to an angle at the pointy end. The only similarly shaped brush that I own is the Trish McEvoy 23 angle/crease (now revamped into a petite version). I like this one from Rae because I can use it with cream products as opposed to the Trish one which is natural hair thus only good with powders.

This doubles nicely as a cream concealer brush as you can really get it into the under-eye area with ease.

Cleans off nicely with my Sonia G microfiber towel, or for more deep cleaning/sanitizing, with Parian Spirit...both of which you can also buy thru Beautylish!

Good but quite big

This brush is soft and I like the angle on it. From all the glowing reviews here on Beautylish plus watching my favorite YouTubers,I bought this thinking I'd be in absolute love with it.

I got it specifically to use with bronzer since I didn't really have a bronzing brush and thought I would do better with a dedicated tool for this task.

While it seems like a very good brush, it picks up a lot of product and I can't really get the control I want with where it goes. So I wound up with too much bronzer on my face. I tried to use this with powder blush also and while it does a good job, again, it was just kinda too big for my face (and I don't have small features as my face seems average sized.)

I have wound up deciding to return this brush. It isn't that it isn't good, but rather, that it just isn't the right brush for the job I needed it to do/bought it for--which was light and very subtle bronzing. If you think you will use it as a more multi-purpose brush (that you will use for bronzing, blush, powder, etc) then I still think it would be a reasonable choice since you'd get more functionality/use for the high price of the brush.

Way better than fingers

My current love with one-and-done cream eyeshadows have benefitted greatly from this brush. (Previously I was using the Fusion Eye Worker by Sonia G.) This brush has a thin body that is flexible, and the tip is perfect for getting into the hard-to-reach inner corner. It's the best of its kind that I've ever tried. I like that the handles are relatively short. The design of the brush is very sleek, modern and understated. I've been slowly upgrading my brushes to Rae Morris' brand and I already had "good" brushes (or so I thought). With the first use, you can tell that there are designed by a working MUA who is at the top of her game. The magnetic feature is an added bonus (I got a Rae Plate as a GWP from Beautylish, and subsequently bought the Rae Frame). My brushes are now incredibly well organized and look like a sculpture on my bathroom counter...very well organized and compact.

Good brush, shorter bristles than most

I like this brush a lot and it's good at what it does. The short bristles make for good control.

The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that months after buying this brush i decided to try the square one from Rae Morris...I fine that RM's brush gives even more control than this very good entry from Wayne Goss.

Different, in a Good Way!

The square shape of this brush makes my lips a totally different experience than any most other lip brushes that I've ever owned...which are all more tapered.

Very precise and very easy to use and comes with a cap to protect it.

The magnetic aspect of the entire Rae Morris brush line is terrific, I didn't realize how much of a game-changer it would be until I got my Rae Plate.

Genius

I just got it and I'm already in love. It's so easy to store my RM brushes and see them all at once without fishing around in a cup hoping to grab the right one on the first try. As the other two reviewers above me have noted, tip your brush slightly to break the seal and get your brush off the plate.

While I received the Rae Plate as a free GWP during the Beautylish Spring 2023 gift card event and hadn't planned to buy it, I am super happy to have it. If you are going to invest in more than one or two RM brushes, this plate (or perhaps the Rae frame, which I haven't tried, but maybe if I get enough RM brushes I will!) makes a lot of sense. I only have a small handful of RM brushes so far but am quite impressed with them and am planning to buy more.)
