Beauty Product Reviews

beautiful and soft, but maybe not practical

This is a lovely brush. Really well made, beautiful soft hair, and it should be a treasure in my every day makeup application collection. But I'm realizing that squirrel hair may not be the most practical brush material for setting my face. The bristles seem to absorb oil very quickly, making the brush feel oily. I also seem to get a better application of setting powder with my goat hair brushes (better blended in to my skin). This seems to leave powder sitting on the top of my skin (which may be user error, as it's possible that I am picking up too much powder with this brush). This is likely better for finishing powder as a last step in your makeup, which I don't use. It is lovely for use with bronzer though.

worth the price

I love how this lays down a sheer veil of powder for finishing my makeup. I have also used it for sheer washes of bronzer, and in a pinch, with a light hand, it could be used for blush. I love using it.

nice quality, not quite dense enough to blend well

I wanted to love this brush. It is soft, the quality is very nice, mine has never shed, it washes well, and theoretically it should be excellent for use with very high pigmented blushes, but I find that it's not quite dense enough to blend the product in properly for me. I find myself using other brushes more (like the chikuhodo Z8, Rephr 05, and the Wayne Goss F1 brush) more. Maybe it would be better for highlighter.

Love this set!

I have a lot of natural hair brushes, but I find myself reaching for the RMS ones every time I use one of the blushes and the highlighter one every time I use a highlighter (of any brand). They just seem to work well with these products. I don't use the highlighter much as I find it a tiny bit too warm toned for me, but the Bermuda Rose blush is beautiful.

Vivid azalea

I have been enjoying this brush/palette set. The vivid azalea shade requires a VERY light hand on my very fair skin, but the payoff is a flush that looks like my natural cold cheeks colour but better. The brush is very nice too. It's a little more dense than I expected (my other Wayne Goss brush from this set is the wispy cheek brush), but I find myself reaching for it a lot as it blends everything beuatifully.

Beautiful soft brush

I have been really enjoying this brush. It's lovely for a soft wash of bronzer - I am very fair skinned so I appreciate brushes that are both soft/flexible enough to offer a very light handed wash of colour and yet still dense enough to blend it. I have also used it for all over setting powder, which it also does well with. Overall, this is a beautifully constructed brush.

Beautiful little palette

This is a nice palette for traveling. It allows for both a soft daytime look appropriate for work and deeper tones to glam up after work. The quality of the shadows are nice too. My only small quibble is that I am very fair skinned and it would have been nice to have at least one lighter shade as the lightest shade is usually what I might use as a crease colour and the shimmers are a little deep for daytime wear on me.

Lovely but a bit dark for very fair skin

This is a beautiful cool toned palette. The formula of the shadows are high quality and I have no complaints. I just don’t reach for it often as I am extremely fair skinned and I find this is too dark for me (there aren’t very many options I can use for transition shades, highlight shades, or even lid shades for daytime looks as the tones run too deep for me). Had it offered a few tones suitable for pale skin, it would have been much more wearable.

Beautiful, buildable, luminous blush

I have extremely fair skin (MAC NW10) so I have to use a light hand with a very soft blush brush with this product to avoid clown cheeks, but with a light hand it offers a beautiful sheer, luminous, almost watercolour effect. I liked it so much I just bought another one in Kir Royal.
