Silky, shiny, glassy finish
I've been using this for the past week and absolutely thrilled with the results! With this oil, I was hoping I could use it on damp, but most importantly, on dry hair. With most hair oils, I can easily use while the hair is damp, as it disperses the product a bit better and it will generally dry down non greasy even if it is a bit heavy to begin with. The challenging part is finding a hair oil lightweight enough to use while the hair is dry. For reference, I have coarse, wavy hair with bleached blonde highlights. No only does this oil not leave a greasy finish on my hair, it leaves it just super silky, shiny and slippery to the touch. My hair is fairly damaged from the bleaching but this tames down the frizz on my ends perfectly. The best part is the effect lasts for the days after I apply this so there is no need for me to reapply until I wash my hair again. My previous favorites are the Oribe Gold Lust Hair Oil as well as the Sisley Precious Hair Care Oil. While both of those are fabulous and I still consider to be my holy grails, I have to say I like this one best.
Stunning sheen
These highlighters give a beautiful sheen to the skin and I love that they are buildable. For everyday, I prefer subtle glow and with one dusting on the cheeks, I can easily achieve that. For a beaming, glass-light highlight, I usually do another 1-2 passes. The only drawback for me is that I often get carried away and end up putting more on that I intended. I definitely recommend really taking a good look at how much of glow you're already getting before applying more. The variety of undertones in these shades make the palette versatile so I can find a shade for every look. The palette format also lends itself to mixing the shades if any particular shade just isn't quite what you're looking for. Each pan is very sizable and contain a generous amount of product. Between the 6 shades, you will likely never run out even with daily use. I've had the palette for a year and has not made a dent. I imagine this would be great for pro makeup artists.
Super nourishing and moisturizing
I love this oil for double cleansing. It has a beautifully smooth and cushiony texture, but is substantial enough to cling onto the skin without dripping everywhere. I find this oil really moisturizes and nourishes the skin while being able to effectively remove makeup and sunscreen. I then remove this with a damp cloth and then follow up with a gel cleanser to ensure the skin is thoroughly cleansed. I even double cleanse in the morning when there is no makeup or sunscreen on my face. My skin is very dry and I find that the first cleansing step with with oil really helps to pick up and slough off the dry skin on top in an ultra gentle way. I usually work this into my skin for a few minutes to pick up any dry flakes on the surface so that when I wipe it away with a damp cloth, my skin texture is smooth and free of dry, dead skin cells sitting on the surface. This is a great way for me to both cleanse and mildly exfoliate my skin without having to go in with a physical scrub, which my skin finds irritating if used too frequently. As a bonus, it adds moisture to the skin in the process.
Calms redness and irritation
This spray has been very helpful for the skin on my body, which is often eczema, rash and irritation prone. Thankfully my face is oddly immune to this, but it has been challenging to bring retinoids down my neck. I've been able to use tretinoin on my face okay and has always hoped to be able to treat my neck area as well. Even at a lower strength, I've never been able to tolerate tretinoin on my neck, without breaking out in a red and angry rash the next day, which then last a few days. Thankfully, I came across this, which has really made applying actives to my neck possible. I use 3 sprays, which covers the entire neck and decolletage area before going in with the tretinoin. It calms the skin down instantly and prevents irritation if I use it before applying any actives. With this, I've been able to apply tretinoin to my neck every night and miraculously, my skin doesn't break out into a rash to flare up the eczema. This is a very useful product to have on hand for the times that my skin on the body just decides to flare up. It can take a few applications but it gives me much needed relief.
Leaves you smelling amazing out of the shower
I first experienced the signature Oribe scent with one of their most popular products, the Dry Texturizing Spray. I love using that product, not only for the performance, but the scent is a big part of the experience. If you love the signature Oribe scent, this is the perfect body wash for you. By no means is this scent subtle, as it will really permeate your entire bathroom when you use it. I do get the floral notes, but the there is a lot of depth to the scent due to the sandalwood notes, which adds adds a warm, woody and creamy base. Definitely a more feminine scent but very sophisticated and complex. The scent does stay with you out of the shower but isn't overwhelming. In terms of performance, I find it does cleanse the skin well, but doesn't leave it stripped due to the variety of plant oils, shea butter and fatty acids in the formulation that really nourish the skin. I love this for the days I want to have that sensorial experience in the shower; it is a very lovely fragrance.
Prevents frizz and cooling on the skin
I love these pillowcases so much I'm on my 3rd set! I purchased the first set two years ago and to my surprise they held up super well, no pilling, snagging, thinning or tearing whatsoever. The silky smooth finish really helps to cut down on the amount of frizz in the hair when I wake up. The cooling feeling is also appreciated as I sleep hot. I've had other silk pillowcases in the past and find that the performance of these are comparable. I just couldn't keep up with the handwashing for silk pillowcases, which do tend to thin and develop holes when I put the in the wash, even when I hang dry. With these, I don't have to worry. Most of the time, I put them in the wash and hang dry, and have even put them in the dryer in a pinch. They're still in great shape two years later! I recently purchase the Mickey Mouse set for my partner and myself and can't get over how adorable they are, with the same great quality as always. Highly recommend for the performance and low maintenance.
Gentle exfoliant great for decongesting the skin
I was drawn to this while looking for a gentle scrub for the skin, but this turned out to be so much more! Yes, it does contain very fine crystals that will offer physical exfoliation, but it also contains 2% salicylic acid to clear out the pores and 5% encapsulated enzymes to chemically dissolve any surface dead skin cells. The physical exfoliation is very gentle on the skin, not overly abrasive at all, yet effective at at removing any dry or flakey bits on the skin's surface. Salicylic acid is oil soluble so it really gets deep into the pores to chemically clear out any excess sebum or debris that may be clogging the pores. The combination of these awesome physical, chemical and enzymatic ingredients results in skin that is visibly smoother and feels smooth to the touch as well. I've been using this twice a week for two weeks, and I do notice my pores have been less congested. The skin just looks smoother, brighter and the pores are more refined. I tend to leave this on the skin for a minute or two after applying it to dry skin, and adding a bit of water to help work it in further. I also love that this product does not contain added fragrance and there is no detectable scent. If you're looking for a bit more powerful physical exfoliation, I recommend the Potent-C Power Scrub instead from this same brand. I do have both on hand but I now mostly use this product, as I love the multi-level exfoliation it provides and how gentle the physical exfoliation feels on the skin. Fantastic, well thought out product, and I will definitely be repurchasing.
Very moisturizing
Since I don't love the feeling of a moisturizer on the body, this product has been very helpful for me to keep my skin moisturized. It is an oily gel texture with a very slight lather but it does clean the body effectively. Not only does this not strip the skin of its moisture, but it helps to put the nourishment back into the skin so it feels soft and supple after drying off. I have used other more nourishing body washes in the past, and sometimes they really coat the tub with an oily layer that causes the surface to be slippery. This doesn't do that, as it washes away clean without leaving a residue in the shower, which I really appreciate. Not to mention, the 1L size lasts forever between my partner and myself. He does get flares of eczema from time to time, and this has been helpful for him in maintaining his skin health.
Perfect peachy nude
This is a beautiful shade of peachy nude that feels a bit retro to me while still being very wearable. This is my favorite formulation in the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick range. I love the satin finish, but most importantly, I love how the formula grips onto the lips well and wears away beautifully. This formula has the best lasting power of any traditional lipstick formulation I've come across. It also doesn't accentuate dryness on my lips and keeps them moisturized with wear. I will definitely be trying more shades from this formulation.
Smoothes damaged hair
Since my hair is bleached to light ash blonde from deep brown, it is very damaged, as you can imagine. I've been using K18 once per week for years now in order to maintain those weakened bonds in the hair. While that has worked to ensure my hair doesn't just break off in pieces, I find that my hair still feels damaged. I was drawn to this product due to f-layer being in the name of the product. As I understand, a f-layer is the outermost protective layer of the hair usually made up of lipids and fatty acids. This serum contains various plant oils, peptides and proteins to replenish the compromised f-layer of my hair, which has resulted in more hydrated, softer, and smoother hair that even has a bit more shine. My hair is mostly straight but I do experience frizz, which has drastically improved since I started using this product a few weeks ago. My go-to leave-in product is the Oribe Supershine Moisturizing Cream, which does give me more shine than this product. However, I find this conditioning serum makes my hair look and feel healthier from within instead of coating it with product in order to impart the effect. My hair has also been more manageable since I've consistently used this after every wash. It doesn't feel heavy, even if I accidentally apply too much. I guess this is my new go-to.
