Classic French Staple

This product takes me back to my days living in France - especially when I smell that scent! When I lived there, I was introduced to it by female and male friends who all collectively use it religiously so I jumped on the bandwagon and did the same and fell in love with the results on my dry skin. Although once I moved back to the States, I lost touch with it since I didn't know where to get it besides in French pharmacies. So I was so happy when I found out that Beautylish had it and ordered it right away - and so my love affair with Embryolisse started up again.

There's really nothing that can replace the finish it gives and never fails to bring back memories for me. Although what I did notice is that if I use it all over my face, I would get bumps on the sides of my face and forehead - which is pretty shocking for me since it didn't used to do that for me when I was using it in France. The formula has not changed, so I'm thinking it might be the climate or water here - but either way, I still continue to use it, but only strictly on the center of my face where I'm driest.

Must-have for night skincare routine!

This product is a must-have for me - I can't go to sleep without putting this on (or the 5%) each night. First time users will definitely feel some tingling during the first applications but once your skin starts getting used to it, the sensation stops.

This is my 3rd bottle and I don't plan on taking it out of my skincare routine any time soon.

Great for Combo Skin

I really like this product for those days where I just need a little extra hydration in certain areas - like the apples of my cheeks.

First of all, I love the scent - it's very light and fresh and it feels very good on the skin. When I first started using this, I used it everyday during my morning skincare routine and was delighted with how it gave my skin hydration, especially in my dry spots and it didn't seem to cause my t-zone to shine more than usual. But after a week or so, I started seeing little bumps and spots on my forehead and on the sides of my face and since this was the only thing that was new in my routine, I knew this was the culprit.

But I still love the product for the hydration it gives so I modified the way I used it by only applying it to my dry spots (mostly my cheeks but away from the sides of my face) whenever it gets really dry and it works pretty well - no spots or bumps. I just really wish I could slather this on to my entire face because I'm in love with the scent.

HOLY GRAIL PEEL!

I used to use Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel pads - which are very very expensive (a box is $88 for 35 treatments), I only used it once a week to conserve and it worked well - delivered what was promised and made my skin super smooth right after the treatment but a couple days afterward, my skin felt rough despite keeping up with my nightly lactic acid serums. For the amount of money you pay, I figured that the results should last way more than 2 days.. So when it was time to replenish my usual Ordinary products, I finally decided to take this (which is pretty hard since it seems to be always out of stock) - and WOW!!

I decided to use it like how I used the DDG peels - once a week. Right when I applied it, I could definitely feel a tingling/kinda burning sensation for the first 3 minutes and then fades off. I let it stay on for 10 mins (the max time you can have it on your skin) then rinse and immediately you can feel the difference! Applying your other skincare products afterward feels so luxurious - the skin literally feels as smooth as a baby's butt. By doing just that, I was very happy with it. After a couple of days, I was expecting my skin to become rough (like when I was using the DDG peels) but NO! My skin remained as soft as it was the day after the peel up until it was time to do it again. My skin also has never been clearer; I used to get bumps right after my cycle ends - but not anymore thanks to this glorious product.

I highly, highly recommend it to anyone who wants to really amp up their skincare routine but doesn't want to spend a ton of money (but tbh, I would pay $50 for this - it's that good). I would just caution anyone who isn't used to acids and peels.. this is a very potent formula and you would want to work your way up to this by trying other peels with gentler formulas because the first application (even for an "experienced" acid user) is very overwhelming.

I really wish it worked out...

I had really high hopes for this product with all the reviews I've read and the premise that it would give flawless skin without foundation? Yes please! Now, I don't wear foundation but I do wear a primer/base (usually something of the illuminating kind) and just spot conceal if I have any blemishes. So I was very excited for this to arrive - upon initial application, I really loved the finish it gave my skin. I was radiant - it gave my skin that natural glow/lit from within look. I also found that I didn't use as much concealer as I usually do (meaning I didn't have to conceal the slight redness on the apples of my cheeks) so that was a plus!

But then after a couple hours, I noticed a spot on my cheek that definitely was not there before I applied it. I ignored it and figured it was a hormonal thing but then as I continued to use it the next 3 days, I noticed more break outs in places where I usually don't get breakouts. I know it was from this product because I wasn't using anything else new. Sad to say, it didn't work out for me - I have a suspicion it's because of all the silicone.. I'll still keep it for if I want to brave it and want to look glowy and picture perfect but I definitely wouldn't use it everyday again.

Amazing!

Finally! A believable cream contour shade! Don't be put off by the shimmer you see in the jar because it does not translate to the skin whatsoever. Also, at initial swatch you may think that it's too dark (I definitely did) but once blended out it creates a really great shade that I can only describe as a believable "shadow" shade. It is not too warm, not too cool - just the right amount of balance. You can also definitely build this product up or keep it natural and sheer. I had to play around with it to figure out the best way to apply it - and for me, it's taking warming it up and applying it with my fingers where I would usually contour and then taking a small face brush (I use Real Techniques highlighter brush) to blend it out.
