Beauty Product Reviews

Even if you patch test be careful :(

I started turning into a skincare junky towards my mid 20's and I just recently turned 30. So my skin has been through... a lot haha. I don't have sensitive skin, and have never had an allergic reaction to anything put on my face. I use the Drunk Elephant Vitamin C serum daily but the cost makes my wallet weep. Enter The Ordinary. I've heard lots of positive and negative reviews about their products (mostly negative), but figured, you never know until you try. I ended up ordering about 5 of their products, including this one. The products didn't really do anything for me, but for the cost it didn't bother me. I was able to just give the stuff away. This stuff though..ugh. Yes i know the product is in suspension, but so are other ones and they're not nearly a pain in the butt to figure out the best way to apply. The texture sucks. I don't care what you say, the price doesn't justify the work you need to put to even get SOME of the product to absorb into your skin or to even feel comfortable on your skin. Who wants to sleep with grit all over their face and get it all over their sheets? And on top of that you should probably cut it with an oil or moisturizer unless you want chemical burns. Patch tested and was fine. I used it once, it burned after about a minute so i washed it off because i didn't want to risk my skin peeling. The next day i woke up and my skin was still burning but it didn't look different. Around 7 pm i noticed that my face was itchy and when i went to wash it i discovered that my face and neck were full of rash, including my lips. Seeing as how this was the only new product i tested that day i had a feeling it was this product. Waited a week, rash went away, tried product again and same reaction. The worst part is not only did i get rash, but it also made me break out in a crap load of whiteheads everywhere- which is something i never get :(. Took about a month and a half to get my skin back to normal. I would only recommend these products to my enemies. I guess you get what you pay for, either a product that doesn't work or a product that messes up your skin.
