Beautiful brushes
This set changed my opinions on brushes forever. I was a sponge supremacist because I never got foundation brushes to work for me. I tried many different synthetic brush brands and just never got them to work around my nose and forehead area, where it often was either streaky or would cling to dry patches and create an unflattering base.
The lotus base applies my foundation better than any sponge, it just creates the most skin-like smooth application. I've used it with drug store and high end foundation and I've just now realized that it's the application that matters, not the price of the product. My Revlon looks like Nars because of this brush! It's definitely the stand out brush of the set for me.
The cheek and detail brush are both great addition. I've never had issues with synthetic brushes and powder application, so these brushes weren't life changing for me, however, it's undeniable that they are so much softer than any other brush I own. I have a smaller face so these size brushes are great for controlling blush and bronzer application. I love how airy and soft it is, gives the most natural wash of color and is super easy to build up color as well.
The eye brushes are fantastic. I didn't think I had particularly sensitive eyes until I used these to blend out eyeshadow and couldn't go back to my normal brushes after. I do use a fair amount of cream eyeshadows, so these don't get used as often as the other brushes, but I'm eyeing her fusion series very hard right now. Would love for her to come out with a detailed fusion eye set, as I have small hooded Asian eyes and a lot of her eye brushes are too big for me to feasibly use, but I can definitely see using them for other areas of my face or with concealer.
Oh, and I have to mention, I've washed them three times since receiving them and I think they are getting softer and softer each time. I did notice a slight smell after the first initial wash, but I used a bit of vinegar the next time and the smell is completely gone now. Some hairs did fall out in the first wash, especially in the lotus base, but I've read that those are the excess hair that are packed and are meant to fall out. I will continue monitoring for more shedding, but so far it has been minimal to one or two fibers since the initial wash, so I'm not super concerned about further shedding.
Overall, I was definitely sold because of the beautiful, unique pink design and lotuses are my favorite flowers. I am super impressed by how soft these brushes are and how multi-functional they are. I could do my entire face with this set if I had to. It makes makeup application a no brainer. I'm definitely getting my money's worth with how often I use the lotus base, that's for sure!
