Beauty Product Reviews
it's a first use review... but i couldn't help myself
I have to say it again, this is the first use. I didn't even buy it, it was a sample in my beautylish box. But here i am writing this review, I love it!
let me give a bit more details. I have thin hair. I wear a hair topper (human hair, not synthetic) regularly. The one i'm constantly wearing is bleached with highlights and lowlights. as soon as i started washing it regularly, (as often as you should) it started to get very tangly and dry. I couldn't tame it or style it properly. It's a very expensive piece, but this is what happens when you choose to go blonde with a topper. Anyway, i learnt from watching youtube videos that the best way to tame the hair is to apply a dab of hair oil daily at night after taking it off and brushing it. And true to those tutorials, the trick worked. I've been using Anillo hair oil, and this japanese serum viral on tiktok (forgot the name) and it got really better. Much better than before. Apparently, this hack works for all hair, not just toppers and wigs. on to the main point... i received today my order from beautylish. in the box i found this sample. i read the name of the product but didn't think much of it. i had seen the brand before, but didn't realize that this is a different line than R+CO. I opened the sample to a slightly thicker than water consistency for the oil. It's not as runny as the K18 hair oil. the smell is divine. and the texture is rich and elegant. i have (with the help of the topper) long and thick hair, but less than a pea sized drop was more than enough to do the job. IMMEDIATELY, i felt the difference! the shine, the moisture, the smell, the lush sensation. the frizz is gone and the tangles were brushed away. it's been more than an hour, and i can still feel the moisture. My hair didn't tangle once (unusual in my case). no fly aways and no frizz.
I need to remind you (and myself) that this is my first use. But if this is like this really... i think we found an ultimate winner.
i bought this years ago, from beautylish, and it's still going strong.
back when it had the clear plastic cover, i bought this $80 palette thinking to myself WTF, what's all this fuss about!
But i tell you, palettes have come and go, brands have risen and fallen; I moved houses, had kids, and turned 40 (if you know you know) and this palette stayed. the color payoff, the smoothness, the lack of fall out, OH! it has such universal colors that it can go with you ANYWHERE and ANYTIME and it'll do the job. i can go cool or warm, day and night, summer to winter. It works. So if you've been eyeing this, worried about the price tag. Go for it! you won't regret.
So i like it... but is it worth the price??!!
i love the texture of this oil. i have combination skin, with oily T-zone, yet the oil works well with my skin. In terms of its firming claims, i don't see that. but it did hydrate my skin incredibly well. i switched from using it at night to my morning routine. that's when i saw the benefits. my Vitamin C serum finished, so i used this oil in its place. it gave me glow, and freshness. And i can safely say it helps brighten the skin.
That said, i would be repurchasing this oil in winter time as an alternative to my CE ferulic, keeping the that for summer. but if you don't want to spend this amount of money, i would say that you won't be missing that much.
Mmmm.... go buy the Paula's choice BHA toner.
i'm sorry to say this, but unfortunately it's true. compared to the potency of Paula's choice BHA toner, this one is subpar.
unless you have tried the other one, you will only then realize that this doesn't really work. Not that this is bad, not at all. i actually like this brand. but this toner doesn't do it for me.
OH no!! i didn't like it
it's like water. it did nothing. i used other niacinamide toners and they did wonders. this one did not. i'm disappointed. i like the brand. they've got some really good products, but this one just didn't do it for me. i neither felt the product going on my face, nor smelled it, nor saw any results. been using for almost 2 weeks. i don't know, maybe it was my bottle.
It's like rubbing water on my skin.
Useless moisturizer. it neither moisturized nor norished. i got this cream for the licorice ingredient, but i don't think it's potent enough. or probably they just used a tiny percentage that it's almost not there. complete disappointment.
it's not potent
I wouldn't go as far as saying it's not a good product, or it gave me a bad reaction; but honestly, the whole line seem meh... Compared to other similar products, all items i got from this line underperform. However, out of the other product of ROSEN, i can say this was the best.
I think the potency of the ingredients is not up to par with the claims. with other serums with similar ingredient list i can clearly see the results. But with this one, i've been using it for 2 week now, and nothing. even the left over glow i had from my previous serum is fading away.
will not recommend and won't be buying again.
P.S. for reference, i'm 37 yrs, Middle Eastern with normal, non problematic skin.
It's good... if you like this look
I personally don't like the look off separated lashes, which this mascara gives. That said, the mascara is long lasting, doesn't flake and is not irritating. The wand separates and lengthens lashes, so for those with thick lashes, it'll be a superstar product. In my case, i have long but thinner lashes, so upon separation, they look sparce. to compare, my favourite mascara is "better than sex mascara" from too faced. the wand shape makes the lashes full and long.
I adore this product... absolute BEST!
I’m on my second bottle, and I KNOW that this will always be a product I’ll repurchase. I’m middle eastern, with a warm complexion but with a tendency to look yellowish. This spray veils my yellowish tone and makes my skin look sun kissed and healthy. I only spray one layer, I find the best application to be after I’ve taken a shower and used an oil (Johnson baby oil- nothing fancy) in the shower. I do exfoliate regularly, which naturally makes the application more even. Sometimes I add a few sprays to my body lotion, but if the lotion is thick, it can bunch up in few places. I only shake the bottle after I finished spraying the areas of my body that I don’t wish to have shimmer, which is usually my face and chest. When shaken, the shimmery glow this product gives, makes my legs seem so silky as if I’m wearing stockings. It is NOT glittery, it’s glowy velvety and smooth- if that makes sense.
You can layer it up, but after a few trials and errors, the best way to layer is after waiting for the first layer to fully dry.
This product doesn’t transfer to your clothes or light furniture, but again, wait for it to dry (which, by the way, is quick because it’s a spray)
Still going strong
An update - well maybe a reiteration!
I bought this brush in 2016. Still in love with it now as i was when i first got it. It is still my go to brush. I wash it once a week, EVERY WEEK! not a single hair fall out. it is great for mineral foundation, for bronzer, and if you're in a hurry, just squish the hairs and you can use it for blush and even a bit of contouring.
ultimate favorite! maybe i should buy another one just in case some suite somewhere decides to discontinue...
