Japanese Gardens Maki-e Brush Set

My first Sonia G purchase and, just wow! The makie is gorgeous, the packaging and presentation exceptional. They’re soft for my sensitive lids, have terrific pickup, blend smoothly, and the size is perfection. The few eye brushes I own are large one and done, so these will be an everyday brush for me. I love ‘getting ready’ me time, and having beautiful tools add to the sense of pampering. The loveliest experience opening a Fude brush to date.

What a beautiful celebration of art, skills and craftsmanship these brushes are! Sonia never disappoints in her tasteful and intelligent choices when it comes to shapes and materials, her Maki-e collections are a gorgeous tribute to both traditions and innovations. The handles and the box are beautifully presented and crafted, and the brushes are a real pleasure to work with, they feel amazing on the skin and help placing the products exactly as you wish. I highly recommend purchasing them before they're gone!

Can't rave enough about these 3 beautiful brushes. They are so soft to my eyes and I'm so grateful about this, bye bye scratching brushes. Yes, they are expensive and one has to think twice if you do really use them.... the handles are in a beautiful design and the boxes too and can be used as a brush holder. Very happy about this purchase.

Best brushes ever! They have the perfect size for my mature eyes and they are so easy to work with. I have many quality brushes but these are the only brushes I really need to apply eye shadow properly. I’m only sorry I wasn’t aware when the Summer Koi and Sunset Crane brushes went for sale. I really hope Sonia G. will bring those brushes back.

Once again, Sonia doesn’t disappoint with the launch of the Japanese Gardens Maki-e Brush Set. From the beautiful artwork on the handles, the super soft choice of bristles, and the immaculate packaging you won’t regret adding these to your collection. They are just visually stunning…they are functional for virtually any one. The difference in bristles in all 3 sets (Summer Koi and Sunset Crane) makes having all 3 sets not feel redundant.

These are my first Maki-e with squirrel eye brushes and I’m in love. They are so beautiful, soft but they still perform perfectly on my 50 years old eyelids. Unfortunately I missed the other 2 limited editions from Sonia but I’m still hopping she either brings them back or does new maki-e eye brushes editions (soft ones).

I have all three maki-e sets. I really loved them, but I have to say this may be my favorite one. The white Canadian squirrel is just gorgeous. We’ve all have come to expect Sonia‘s brushes to be elegant and soft, still affordable in my opinion, and versatile. But, when I opened the box, I just couldn’t believe the exquisite presentation. From the pavlova box with ribbon to the rice paper to the brushes themselves. The Canadian squirrel is so soft and so elegant, I just can’t fully express how beautiful this set is. The price is definitely on point again, and I would encourage you to pick them up because they are art. The Japanese garden theme is beautiful, I couldn’t stop looking at all the exquisite details of the Maki-e. Almost want to keep them in pristine condition! May have to go for a second set. Thank you, Sonia, from the bottom of my heart for this set.
