More beautiful in person!
Its still so hard to find TRUE cool toned palettes so I finally gave this a try and it is so much more beautiful in person! The shimmer shades have so much dimension and the sparkles in real life are just stunning! The only con I would mention is that a few of the "white" matte shades and sparkly black shades are a little too similar to each other. I can see a difference when swatched on my arm but when blended out on the eye they essentially do the same thing...I do appreciate the more dramatic feeling of this palette overall as she has many everyday, nude palette variations in her collection. That being said, a "I Need a Cool Nude" eyeshadow palette would be a literal DREAM accompanied with Xenon.
Absolute.. Must Buy
It's true there is no black in this. I have used this on a number of occasions and love it. Very fun with the tones and textures. I have used all the colors and happy with everyone. I don't have a mini, but I do have the dream palette if I need to use Black. I bought this with my own money! Oh yeah, I am naturally tanned, goes well with my complexion.
Surprised
I expected this to be a black and white palette. But it's more of a shimmery navy, charcoal and white palette. The lightest colors have variation as do the shimmers. The formula is terrific as usual with Natasha Denona.
What this palette lacks however, are mid tone shades. Which makes it a challenge to create a look without some (or even one) transition shade. That's why YouTubers are only creating dramatic looks with this. This palette needed at least one cool toned medium taupe. That would have made it so much more user friendly. Also I think this would be a poor choice for beginners, unless they are far down the road to Goth.
I imagine I will use this with another palette to get a more wearable daytime look. And will only keep it because it's different than anything I have. And it will afford me some nice frosty looks when it gets cold. If you want a versatile palette that will get a lot of use, look elsewhere.
A new favorite
Although I can dupe this color story many times over in my entirely cool toned collection, I bought this palette for the formulas and I have no regrets. The cream to powder and mattes apply beautifully with my natural hair brushes as the formulas are pigmented but buildable and blend effortlessly. The shimmers, best applied with fingertips, are a mix of smooth, high shine metallics and wet looking sparkly toppers. I always use an eye primer, either Nars Pro-Prime or Hourglass Veil, and other than some minor fallout from the toppers, the shadows last all day with minimal fading or creasing. The color story is more versatile than it appears, with shades ranging from bright white to deep charcoal and navy, as well as iridescent ivory, pale pink, taupe and champagne. Unlike traditional grayscale palettes, I'm able to create many different looks for daytime, night and special occasions and I think it will work for a variety of skintones. This is a beautiful palette and as someone that's vampire pale and can't wear warm tones, this is what I wanted Glam to be. I can't recommend it enough.
