Decent Nail Color for only $.49!
First off, this polish doesn't have any of those mixing balls inside, so when you shake it, you just have to believe it's mixing up. After opening the bottle, the brush it pretty standard - square shaped and medium in length - it is however pretty stiff and when applying the polish the brush doesn't seem to fan out enough to work properly. The formula is very thin, but two coats will get you an opaque full coverage. In the bottle, this polish looks like a deep blue, but once it is applied there are subtle blue shimmers in it and the color is actually similar to a true denim shade (I could not get this to look correct in the photos though). The polish is very pigmented and after removing it there was slight discoloration, even when a base coat was used.
I wore this polish for about a week and after 3 days this polish began chipping very easy, by the 6th day I had to remove it because it looked pretty shabby. This polish is decent, for $.49 I didn't expect much. I wouldn't go and buy all the shades, but this would be great for younger people who like bright/trendy colors but don't have the money to buy higher quality products.
One of the best nail polishes I've tried!
Favourite nail polish when Im just on the go! It applies so smoothly, it's the perfect consistency for me, the brush is just does it for my nails and its dries fairly quick. I'm so happy there are good quality products out there that are inexpensive, this is definitely a good buy and worth purchasing again! :)
Better than many expensive brands
I love these to start with because the colors are great and the bottles are small which means they don't take up as much room in my polish collection. I almost never finish a full sized bottle of polish anyways. The actual texture (is that the right word?) and brush of the polish make for the EASIEST application I experience- along with Revlon and OPI. This is MILES better than Sinful Colors or China Glaze which are notoriously finicky for me. The brush is really good quality, not like the Wet N Wild Spoiled/Megalast brushes. It reminds me of the other Wet N Wild ones in the thin rectangular bottles. Bottom Line: REALLY GOOD!
Spring/Summer 2012 shades ROCK!
I received a few new shades from Essence's Spring/Summer 2012 collection, and the formulations are so much better than the polish I had purchased last year. Even the brushes seem to work better. Either my 2011 polish was a dud, or Essence has stepped up their nail polishes! The brush isn't the highest quality, but it's high enough where it doesn't drag the polish - you still get a smooth texture. The shades I have in the photo are A Lovely Secret, Glamorous Life and Walk On Air.
I have a box full of these polishes! ^_^ They're cheap, easy to apply (some of them just 1 coat), they've really good and precise brush, the range of colours is crazy and they look good for days! They work great applied alone or used for nail arts, they're really easy to wash off (I never had leftovers, not even with reds)... just LOVE THEM! ^_^
I just by it cause I wasn't in time and had to got a nail polish. But in the store I was were only essence and so I by this nail polish. And know I have to say I have so many colours, I couldn't count. I have the problem that nail polish don't stay on my nails. But this essence polish do that! I was really surprised! So I love them and you can choose so many colours... Really good!
I have about 10 of these!
Bought these at the local Shopper's Drug Mart for my daughter. She likes the crazy colours and I like the price. Well, I have used all the colours we bought and I have not been disappointed. I am a Shellac, OPI, Essie wearer normally, but the budget has been tight so these have fit the bill. I tried the first one when I want a dupe for Essie "Turks and Caicos". The colour I found is closer to Audrey by China Glaze but still looks great with an application of 2 coats. For less than $2 I can splurge and buy several colours at the same time. Be sure to topcoat!
